Well JK ran the GroupA Lancer with HariSingh before that class got cancelled and hence the guess. HM supposedly helped them out.

MRF and Maruti have been buddies lately with them running the Baleno and co-sponsoring some events.

But, you are right, the Swift will be a favourite among privaters too.

BTW, Rtech can you throw some light on homologation procedure for this trio?

I think that has died a quiet death. It seemed like it was really V.Sumantran's extra curricular activity. J.Anand built 2 double zero cars and that was it.

Procedure is pretty straightforward.
Set of standard forms are sent to the Companies to complete. These forms contain all the technical data - sizes, ratios, clearances, photographs of brakes, suspension etc etc.

Once these are completed, an MAI Official goes to the factory to verify that the specifications given are accurate. Once the Official verifies this, the vehicle is homologated and ready to be raced/rallied.

Good Info, thanks! And I assume that MAI will use this info to ensure during tech scrutiny that the clearances, ratios and stuff like that are not tampered or modified.

Now what if say HM wanted to run bigger brakes in their rally cars or something like that. Do they need to make a special run at the plant and make certain quantitiy of cars available to the general public ??
