Spice Challenge 2012

The Spice Challenge rally was flagged off yesterday by Mr. K. Babu, Excise Minister, to the throbbing beats of the traditional ‘chenda’ drums at Kochi. 35 vehicles will navigate through God’s own country, covering the beautiful tea estates of Munnar, the backwaters of Allepey (where a surprise lays floating for them) and the last leg, through spice gardens to Poovar. Winners of this year’s Monsoon Challenge, Sankar Anand and Karthick Maruti are a team to look out for. Check out the pics

Spice Challenge - Day 1

Day 1 of the 2012 Spice Challenge turned out to be full of interesting and challenging sections set against the backdrop of the winding roads leading to Munnar. The scenic drive took us the gardens of rubber plantations, pepper, arecanut and pineapple crops and there was rain too. The day ended with team Satish Gopalakrishnan and Savera D'Souza taking the lead. Take a look at some of the pics.

Thanks for the lovely share, is it possible for you to post a google maps trail of the route at a later date so that people like me can take our own cars down that route at a later date.

i was there in idukki last saturday,3 Thars zoomed past me and i saw this spice challenge on first Thar.though i missed the event here are two pics i snapped near kattapana.

seems like you guys had great fun.keep going.
