Re: The Valley Run : Drag Races @ Amby Valley on 9th / 10th March 2013

Insanroller, according to the forms a Vehicle with a supercharger fitted by the factory as standard on the vehicle gains 1.6 to the cc. Which means my car a 6cyl, 2995 cc with 300 bhp x 1.6 goes to the 4792 cc, H4 category. This would definately be putting me against the likes of the v8's, v10's and v12's with higher bhp figures..does this seem fair. I am seriously discouraged from entering my car for the event even though i was looking fwd to it, but now i guess i shall just come as a spectator. It seems better to pay 3300 for the one day pass than 11k + fuel cost as i would have to purchase fuel from the organisors or carry my own 97 octane just to have no remotely achievable chance in the drag. I have my forms filled and everything but have not submitted them for the same reason.

I am in no ways saying keep my car in the H2 category but take it to H3 and not directly to H4 as the car is stock by the manufaturer and not modded by me.

I'm not taking sides, but the gains of 1.4 and 1.6 have been followed from the speed runs in 04 if I'm not mistaken.

I think it was a 1.7 multiplier in the first speed run.

I felt it was a bit too high - especially for stock turbo cars. Maybe for tuned cars it makes sense @ 1.6 / 1.7.

Re: The Valley Run : Drag Races @ Amby Valley on 9th / 10th March 2013

Wow. Bought the passes! Gonna be able to see one of the most awesome showcase of cars and their capabilities! My first sports/supercar or racing event! Even though just as a spectator it feels good thinking that all the discussions happening here and cars discussed here, I will be seeing those in person and watch them burn rubber and race!!

OT question. But Like Paras has asked. Any idea what all arrangements will be there for spectators? Gazebo to hang out? Food stalls? Water / cold drinks stand? etc?

Also how many BHPians are coming for the event? As participants and spectators? Will be sort of a BHP meet won't it? Would be great to meet up with as many BHPians as possible!! Can you guys sort of share you attendance details here? If the concerned people on the thread are ok with it. Or may be another thread can be started for this.

1) Thumpingheart - Attending as spectator on 10th March / Sunday. Whole day.

2) Siddy - Attending as spectator on 10th March / Sunday. Whole day.

It was 1.7 for the first speed run but i feel its high for stock cars that have the turbo and superchargers fitted from the manufacturers. It suits the modified cars that have got the turbo and supercharger fitted from outside..they do have an ecu tune too.

I do believe a few posts behind you showed displeasure on being put against the likes of 6 cyl, 3000cc diesel cars even though you have a performance kit fitted to your 3 series from the dealership..i am sure that gives you an advantage in your class.

, I go against cars twice and thrice my engine capacity and BHP, thus making it non competetive for me.

Understandable, but my point is its always been like that. It should probably be lowered considering how many cars come stock from the factory with turbos now.

As for my car, I don't remember what the diesel classes used to be, but they certainly didn't put 2litre turbos against 3litre turbos. Hence I requested a change which the organizers also seemed to agree with.

Re: The Valley Run : Drag Races @ Amby Valley on 9th / 10th March 2013

Im slightly confused :

If its a 1500cc with turbo : then engine classified at 2.4ltr
if its 2000cc with T : 3.2Ltr
if its 3000cc with T : 4.8 ltr

The classification should normally be
cat 1 : upto 2200cc
cat 2 : upto 3000cc
cat 3 :above 3000cc

the hatches automatically fall in the cat 1 , 1.5 and 2.0 fall in cat 2 and 2.5ltr above fall into cat 3 .

You also have NA and Forced induction categories normally . So turbo'd cars do not necessarily have to participate with bigger engine NA cars and loose out. Its only a case of being qualified cc wise for an additional category and run.

The SR doesn't seem to apply multiplication factor for diesel cars . which means " Diesel Cars upto 1800 cc" - you have the 1.3ltrs going against 1.5ltrs.

Where are the passes available guys? How much do they cost? Still available? Can we just land up at the venue and buy at the gates?

3300 for one day pass.Is it the spectator passes?
I have a small doubt,
There are two kinds of spectator passes
1-Seasonal which costs 1500INR
2-Per day pass-1100INR

If i want to attend as a spectator on both days, which one should i go for, the first or the second. What is the difference between seasonal and one day pass?AFAIK the seasonal passes is for both the days,i.e pay 1500 only for 2 days. Please correct me if i am wrong.
