Re: Drive your car on the Buddh Track for Rs. 4,000. Sunday, 17th February 2013!

Just saw your thread.. AMAZING job on the City.. Your model of the city definitely was the best in the power to weight segment when it was launched, and still is compared to many modern cars. I used to have an AT one and it was a HOOT to drive. Damn excited to see that yours is so tastefully and smartly modded. Doesn't the CAI on the car hurt the lowend?

Re: Drive your car on the Buddh Track for Rs. 4,000. Sunday, 17th February 2013!

In the terms and conditions document, in the inspection section, it mentioned something like below

"Helmets must be full faced, be ISI specification or Snell approved, of recent design, be in good condition, show no signs of impact on the exterior and fit the wearer. Proper visor must be worn."

Can I just buy one from the roadside vendor that costs around Rs. 500-1500 bucks? Would this be rejected at the inspection?

One of my friend is an avid photographer. And he will be accompanying me, but won't be riding along on the track. Are such guests allowed in the pitstop area or anywhere near? And is photography allowed?

Full face not required for cars. Any decent helmets will do. Passengers cant carry camera in car, unless you have a suction mount. He can be at the pit stands whre he can get a 360 view. Just ask the mgmt to help him out. If he's coming with you intonthe pits, he will need a pit pass. You can get this while registering.

Noidaboy's F10 did 3.03 seconds.

m4ugr8's B16 is a rocket... too fast! I am sure a lot of german cars would have been thrashed quite easily! The top most spot was for Omar's 370Z I think.. prithwi-81's vRS rocks too.

ITNerd, how was the experience driving at BIC for the first time?
How many cars were there in each slot?

Your civic is looking really hot after the kit and wheels.

For a first timer like me, it is a breathtaking experience! I can push my car to the limit and enjoy the exhilarating moments that G-Force bring at sharp hairpins corners. I did feel very nervous at 1st/2nd laps as I have not used to braking hard at such corners at high speed. However, in subsequent laps, the learning curve moderates itself and knowing my own car helps in making a timely judgement of braking and accelerating.

And the fun of red-lining at every gear and every straight section is so awesome. However, at the last few laps, on hard braking at corners, my brakes suddenly shudders. I can feel the pulsating vibrations and may be the ABS system is very sensitive. I had never experience this before, and for a moment, I even considered opting out. However, just about 8 mins were left and my co-passenger (my younger brother) suggested we should continue at moderate speed and cornering. I should mention, I had some close shaves when overzealous drivers try to overtake on corners. I had to take a long detour to avoid getting near those cars on the corners.

For me, just the thought that I am driving on the same track as done by the likes of Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, schumacher etc is very profoundly exciting.

Edited: There were around 30 cars on the 2nd session.

Stock punto - Best was 3:11. Don't have pics. :( If anybody else has, please post.
Prithwi's head to head with Ekalavya was the highlight of all sessions. Gap between them was 0.029.

Re: Drive your car on the Buddh Track for Rs. 4,000. Sunday, 17th February 2013!

That's really bad news :(
I missed the first one and the could not possibly had taken my car for the March 10th one so went with a friend.
It was so much fun! I was planning to get my car for the next one, which in my mind was in May. This is a real disappointment. Waiting till November to drive my car in anger is a real bummer!

Guys, are the track days still going on? Is there an option of renting out the track for personal uses like a big extended family outing for petrolheads within the family? Whom do we get in touch with?
