I got a different impression on seeing thisd thread, because I have been hearing of illegal high speed auto racing with prize money for a while now.

This event sounds intersting and diffrent, lets see what comes of it.

Has anyone seen the autorickshaw chase in James Bond's Octopussy which was released in 1983. There Kabir Bedi chases James Bond (Roger Moore) in the crowded streets of Udaipur in an autorickshaw. Bond's auto was driven by our own Vijay Amritraj. He also manages to pop a wheelie a couple of times during the chase.

Nice idea to increase tourism (i guess it's basically targetting them)....but we'll see how successful it would be.

I remember last year reading about an auto's race on the karting track in mumbai....would love to see that if it happens again.

Why do we need a seperate race? We have Autorikshaw drag & rally races happening every day on our streets. The kind of maneuvers they do will put a seasoned rally driver to shame.
