Tank Bund part1

Hi Guys,

The Final obstacle was the Tank Bund.

The task was to climb up and climb down, 4 times in rapid succession.

This obstacle created a lot of excitement among the participants and most of them had a couple of runs.

It was a very confident gesture by Khivraj Pearl in providing 5 Renault Dusters, for the participants who were reluctant to drive their own vehicle and some who attended the event without their vehicle.

Regards,

Arka

Re: Renault Duster Off-Road Excursions, by Khivraj Pearl (Dealer)

I am truely impressed by the FWD 2x4 duster. If in a duster I can dare to do a few things I wouldnt have done normally.

Besides what is there in the rally circuits in this Dacia framme duster, renault have been making capable 4x4 rally vehicles in fact some time back in 2005 or 2006 a lady driver won the UAE desert challenge in a Renault rally special and during those years it did well in the Paris Dakar rally as well.

Well winning against BMW extreme team, Pajero Rallyart team, Team Toyota TRD, Camel trophy derivative Land Rover team, Nissan Arabia rollout, even the local Landrover defender based team Saluki - is a commendable effort.

Good work team terra tigers! Keep it up! naysayers can call it a cheap publicity stunt or whatever they want, unless marketing is done awareness will not increase. My only gripe with the duster has been the insanely heavy clutch.

Our cars are a lot more capable than we believe them to be. This exercise just shows , that duster too is more than an urban , mall-going crossover. Just booked an 85 RKL+ duster. And these pics add to the satisfaction over the buying decision

Re: Renault Duster Off-Road Excursions, by Khivraj Pearl (Dealer)

Why is this thread in the 4x4 section??? We have move all 2WD and MUVs to other sections. I respect Arka, but I don't think we should promote a product from a company who is willing to sell the 4x4 version only to the white man !!

If you guys support my cause, please request mods to move this to the SUV/MUV section.

Arka, sorry it is nothing personal.

Re: Renault Duster Off-Road Excursions, by Khivraj Pearl (Dealer)

Woow, seriously woow!! I am not into off-road, but these pictures really show the capabilities of this vehicle in its primitive 2WD form. No wonder this car performs so well on bad roads or no roads. I was surprised on my short encounter although I was scared to be ambitious. It soaked the broken roads with literally no effort.

With 4WD or AWD, I am sure Duster can keep up with the pack. Only if it came with better interiors, would have been a perfect upgrade for me. Kudos to Arka for this effort.

Anything you do in a 2WD Duster can be done in a 2WD Sumo or Bolero !!

Yes i agree with 4x4addict. For the same reason the 2WD drive jeep pics were removed from the jeep pics thread.

Note from Team-BHP Support :

Thread moved to the Motorsports section. Despite all its pros, the Duster in its current avatar is still a 2WD vehicle in India.

Re: Renault Duster Off-Road Excursions, by Khivraj Pearl (Dealer)

happy and excited to see my car here...the black one with the ugly front bumpers And watching the videos brings back the wonderful driving memories of that eventful day!!
I see that none who drove that day have commented here.
So here I go.. The off road capability of my machine was quite a revelation! Some splendid work by the spotters trained the driver's senses.
I also need to highlight one issue here. Post the event, during the drive back to the city I noticed something weird with the engine response. The RPM would not cross 2000! Had to spend a few seconds to over-accelerate around the 2K RPM to strain the engine to rev up. This meant I couldnt cross 80kph on the ECR! This was frustrating, especially coz of the time it took to cross 2k rpm everytime...especially while changing gears. Also, there was dark black smoke emitted everytime I accelerated hard.
I thought this would get solved after resting him overnight. But it persisted.
Took it to the service center and it took them a few days to figure out what the issue was. Finally they blamed the failure of the Oxygen sensor and since he was still under warranty they fixed it.
Not sure if other drivers of that day or those who've ventured on an off-road with their Dusters had similar problems. If so please share.
Request inputs form the experts as to why this happened and how it could be avoided in future.
Thanks in advance!
P.S: This is my first post in T-BHP and today is my first day
