A adventure race track near mumbai --yes or no

hello friends

I am motor sports freak as you can see in my pic in front of monster truck in new zealand,yesterday I was just thinking and I got a idea to bring up motor sports activity near mumbai (100 kms from mumbai).I just wanted to take feedback from the best forum out here that WILL IT WORK........I mean ATV's ,go karts,mini chopper bikes ,etc.The place is 1 hour drive from the heart of the city Dadar.I dont even know about the approvals part from motor sports assoc and other authority.

How is the idea will it work pls suggest by adding something after yes or no

Hi There,

Brilliant idea. It will work YES. Only problem is you need access to lots of money and space.also if you can incorporate a small race track for 4 wheelers you are all set as we have no such facility in Maharashtra to the best of my knowledge.

You should contact MAI for info on permissions etc. Our moderater Rtech should be able to provide you further info on the same.

As much as it sounds interesting , with such great plans comes great challenges too .. Aquiring large amounts of land , getting the permission from the authorities required , getting a well designed and layout for the track , good transport facilites to get there , medical facilitites , safety features like good run off areas , properly designed kerbings etc etc ..

More than wanting to have go-karts as ur primary objective get it specified for all kinds of cars (indian and supercars) and bikes (indian and SBK's) .. Having track days , single seater events is nothing like it .. Will not only popularize the sport but also will help groom new talent ..

A race track next to mumbai/pune will be a perfect place.. and since you have mentioned a multipurpose track... it'll be brilliant!

I agree to what viper said: to include a track for 4 wheelers (except for the small part, this track should be BIG)..

If we can expect something at international standards (FIA approved), boy oh boy.. i think the same track can be used for go-karts as well as cars.. and if its a good surface, big and well banked (since i guess people have gotten sick of those tiny go-kart circuits) it'll definitely work! and I will be your first customer.. (I still remember bunking school the day the first go-kart track started in pune!)

OF COUSE IT WILL WORK !!!!

But it's gonna take lotsa time, influence & money.
BTW, which area do u have in mind ?

Hey, I just saw this thread .... U kind of stolen my idea -- I had a similar plan in my head and I feel it can work but it all depends on where you located , how well its managed, etc !!! But an excellent idea never the less ....

Nope, dont see it workign if its 100 kms out of Mumbai. People find Hakone in Powai too far to go to. An actual track will work for sure but not a gokarting track. Why not try to build a drag strip, IMO it should be cheaper.

Someone build a track in Mumbai, i envy the Chennai Annas and Bangy Boys

Common we should have our own track so wen can drive full out someday.

and is a race track profitable ? any clue if the kari or mmst making profits ??

Well a drag strip should be different , and really would CLICK out here. Its something offbeat than the usual GO KARTS , ATVs etc.
But getting the permission would be a real TASK .
