A series of twelve drives are planned to be held this year at Gurgaon / Delhi NCR.

One drive will be held every month with fixed start and end points. How ever the route will vary every month with distance of 100km.

Run under TSD format for scoring points. The challenge is to keep to correct route and not get lost. The route book is given to participants just at start along with speed chart.

Westin 100 uses in car device to determine time stamps at controls along the route. So in a way most of the controls are virtual with two to three physical controls thrown in. This is future of rallying.

The entry list is limited to 25 participants and besides offering motor sports fun it offers Westin hospitality. Participants collect in morning at Westin Gurgaon for a breakfast and short briefing. They are flagged off at one minute interval.

A small five eight kilometers test road book forms a prelude and introduces participants to tulip road book format. Right after this competitive navigation drive starts.

Just in case you get lost one of two rejoin points are shared with participants so that they can use Google navigation to rejoin rather than being excluded.

The drive ends at Westin Spa & Resort, Sohna with buffet lunch for all. This is the time to network and listen to stories of others of what went well and where they got lost and how they recovered.

Having online system ensures active tracking of participants and instantaneous results as soon as last car check in. The blue line is the track to be used and magenta is one of the "lost" participants. The back end was able to phone them and guide to end.

Trophies are handed out over lunch. The following categories are formed :

First drive - Westin 100 Lohri - was held on Sunday January 17th and the second drive - Westin 100 Valentine - was held on Sunday February 14th.

The event is aimed at improving TSD capabilities for navigators and create a community motor sports enthusiasts.

So this means the end of Marshals and placers, except for maybe rescue activities on hard stretches?

From another perspective reduces costs, opening up the sport to more potential participants.
