Just saw this Advert in HT CITY today, here is a pic of the advt.

Auto Cross 2006 (December 22-24 2006)

Event Venue
Sector 32 Ground, Noida, near proposed Metro Station (under construction).

Vehicle classification

The following classes exist

Class A Maruti 800, Maruti Alto 800
Class B Maruti 1000, Maruti Zen, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Alto 1.1
Class C Maruti Esteem
Class D Maruti Baleno 1.6
Class E Maruti Gypsy 1000
Class F Maruti Gypsy 1300
Class G Open to all Makes

If the number of the verified cars in a class is below four, this class will be amalgamated with the class or classes above to attain the minimum number of four.

Vehicle Safety Requirements

1. A vehicle will not be allowed to start unless it is equipped with minimum 3 point seat belt. In addition all drivers must wear helmets (Min: ISI Marked).
2. Headlights (if glass) must be crossed with sticking tape to prevent glass falling on the track in case of a breakage.
3. Mud flaps are compulsory.
4. Tyres must have a minimum tread of 2 mm.
5. Vehicles with cracked/damaged windshields which hamper drivers vision or pose a threat to other competitors safety will not be allowed to race.
6. The organizers discretion in final as far as vehicle safety requirements are concerned.

Participants Compulsory obligations

1. The vehicle will be driven by a single driver with no additional crew.
2. The driver will have a valid driving license.
3. The driver will have at least a MAI Club sport competition license.
4. The vehicle will have valid registration papers, and in case the driver is not the owneran authority letter from the registered owner.
5. Helmet and seat belts are mandatory.
6. Carrying of organizers/ sponsors advertising.

Aza, Thanx a ton for this .... been waiting for this event to happen !!! Time to get my zen in shape .... and also a TEAM-BHP X-mas meet .

Any members planning to take part ???? Damn , need to get tyres and a free flow set up ready in time .

This shall be fun ...

CLASS G sounds interesting as well .... It shud be fun in the GTX though this class had been scrapped in teh last 2 events , hope they are running it .. !!!

you said it brotha!!!
though dont have the ***** to put my zen through this torture again.the car still has battle wounds from the last autocross.....like rattles from every part of the interior.

Hey, My poor zen had a cracked chassis from the last autocross but its gonna hit teh track again though I wish I cud arrange a set of dirt tyres . Any idea who might have some lying with them ...

Also looking for tyres for the Palio .. finally get to see how it behaves under race conditions

LOL .. last time I paid 5K to use them for teh week end

!! this time Im sure he wont give them for even 10K .. But any idea if the esteem tyres can be fitted on the zen ????

Well after seeing what I did to his work & reputation on the thread I don't think he'll give them to me for even 100k

She's my daily driver & she's old now (123k) I don't think the car can take that kind of punishment now & survive!!

Cumon Ishaan , Im sure you cud have found a better excuse .... my cars are also touching teh 100K mark and r my daily drives ... !!! I guess u just have to get her on track and then see what happens ....

I will also be flying that weekend but not on the Autocross trail - I'm off to Kolkata

Heyyyyy......waiting a long time for the autocross - will be my fourth outing this time but will have a baleno this time instead of my old esteem....

(I might buy some other tyres and use my stock 13" rims - don't want to risk my alloys.)

anyway....see you folks around....I've just been very busy with marriage and trying to settle back to a regular lifestyle
