Nice Nice this is good news for the Indian Motorsports scene! Hopefully we'll see some good cars & some good drivers coming forward this time around.

Just wondering now whether I should have a word with my family about my choice of career

But effectively its chances are killed because of this rule above. But in reality it dosent bring any advantage because cams and valves are free so who needs a VVT device when you can throw a really hot cam in there.
Thats true, penalising the VVT cars is a waste, since other cars are surely gonna have high lift cams fitted onto them. 150kgs can do a lot of damage in terms of straightline acceleration, cornering speeds and braking distances.

Moreover, on track, there is no question of VVT as the engine would be running on only one cam profile. It just doesn't make sense.

BTW, is it possible to electronically lock the 2ndry cam (on a VVt engine) such that it works from idle to redline?

He is talking about the popular common-rail sedans (some of which give petrols a run for their money).

Its could be a first. @Rtech how about a diesel sedan class?

With the Verna leading the pack ... wonder how they perform under race conditions !!!

As for the series, it definitely does sound interesting !! Im sure the big boys are allready out there preparing their beasts .. And I hope the street circuit is somewhere up North !! We Northerners feel so left out of all the action .

Cheers

You can run an overbore on the 1.3. Or just run the 1.3 itself. It doesn't seem likely that even this swap will be allowed.

I think it has been clearly mentioned earlier that no engine swaps will be allowed.

This is going to be fun. WOW!! Imagine OHCs and Balenos running for all they're worth of. And this will be an event when nobody is really worried of the rear end beauty etc...

How can we know more details of this event?

Yes, but dont tell the scrutiner. Just tell him its a Ikon 1.6 and you'll be fine. Its not like he's going to ask for the RC book.

So, Nitrous tell us what color scheme your car is going to be so that we can cheer for you. It'll be fun to see Mclaren, Shan and Nitrous going at each other.....where's Ajmat and Wolf.

If it's a per-race entry, and there is a Gp N, then maybe, just maybe, I'll show up as well.

A couple of more thoughts to play around with:

- Pro-stock Indian Diesel class (thanks for the idea guys!): Not sure how many entries would come in, but worth trying out.

- Pro-Stock Indian Hatchback Class : All hatchbacks in one class regardless of engine size/petrol or diesel/NA or TC. I'm confident of getting entries for this class. And it should be fun. AND....hopefully get a few manufacturers to start producing their hotted up hatchbacks Swift Sport anyone?

Incase it's not been cleared up earlier (or you people didn't bother reading the regs!), all cars would need:
- FIA spec Roll Cage. Bolt on acceptable.
- 4 point harness
- Fixed back racing seat
- Bonnet/boot clips
