Gemini Racing announces “SHOOT OUT” For Formula LGB-Hyundai Class Scholarship programme 2007.

The Indian Motorsports will be in for a big step forward when the newly formed Gemini Racing Team in association with Meco Motorsports conducts a One day Training cum Driver Selection “SHOOT OUT” programme on the 27th of May 2007 at the KMS Race Track at Chettipalayam in Coimbatore.

The Selection process will see two drivers and two drivers for stand for being awarded a full season Scholarship in the Formula LGB Hyundai Class in the 10th JK Tyre Indian National Road Racing Championship 2007.

The two deserving lucky drivers can look forward to a full season with Gemini Racing and can accelerate their career to bigger formula race cars in the coming years.

The selection process will be exhaustive and the jury is led by India’s first F3 driver Mr. Akbar Ebrahim, the young and rising F1 hope Armaan Ebrahim, the veteran rally driver Mr. Kamlesh Patel, and another racing veteran in Mr. C Rajaram of Coimbatore.

The drivers will be selected based on their driving skills, ability to understand and grasp the intricacies of the machine and his ability to drive fast a sharp learning curve.

According to Mr. Akbar “This is a great chance for the hopefuls and those with commitment to participate and win the scholarship. If they win, they have a great future because all they need to do is just drive with their heart and soul. And of course you need not have money matters in mind. That’s a big relief”

Mr. Anand Prasad Akkineni, the Team Principal Gemini Racing added “This will be a big opportunity for all race drivers and hopefuls to get into the thick of the action even before the start of the season and we are looking to add two drivers with a passion to drive deliver and be the best.”

This really does sound good for all the hopefuls and specially the part where they don't have to worry about the finances bit .. Lets see who the lucky guys are !!

Rt , thanks a ton for the wonderful info .. Does that mean ashwin sundar wont be racing for Gemini this year ??

Anyways I have decided to give it a try .. Lets see whats the outcome .. Akshay , mohnish , binoy are you guys ready ??

I was hoping rks would also participate.. Besides Hyundai is sponsoring (I stand corrected: Hyundai supplies the engine) !

He is busy bike racing abroad.

Ok just got a reply frome Mr.Rasheed .. It seems they are having an advance training program on the 24th and 25th .. Cost for this is 20,000 .. I guess they will give you the technical jargon , and a few rounds in the LGB's to get used to the handling ..

However those who only wish to take part in the Shoot Out will have to send in a DD for 5,000 to the given address :

So to get the full season Scholarship, YOU first need to pay 5k and then be among the lucky 2 to get selected? Sounds like a lottery for 5k!!
