I think it will do 177 Km/H at the end of the run. Its qutoed to do 12.9 with 90% Fuel, 5 Kgs Luggage and 68Kgs Driver.

Looks like the strict requirements are going to deprive us of a lot of fun.

really man.....with such rules i'm really wondering who is going to participate. Even If people have such exotics like gowani it still doesnt make sense to spend 2-3lakhs for 2 days insurance ! Now say gowani wins the race (which he will with the car that he has ! ) even the prize money wont cover half the cost of his insurance !

the winner's insurance shud be refundable, what say???
BTW, the manufacturers warranty claims that warranty will be declared void if the vehicle participates in any sort of [track]race. Is that the reason why they want these cars to be insured?

Well there are Cars which can beat me. I think my MAIN Competitor (If I Race tht is) will be Kunal Kapoor and his Evo 6. Rehaan showed me what he had done last year with his Fastest Run being 13.5 !!!!! Now I dont have any experience in Drag Racing though I know its all about Timing but yet its gonna be difficult in the Practice Sessions. Anyways this will be the time to learn so who KNOWWSS......I might beat the Crap out of him on the Run.....hehehe

Yes he seems to be the most formidable competitor to the SL. Kunal is known to be one who can extract the best from his EVO VI...and thats a mean task.

I think that in a proper race the SL55 will leave the EVO for dead. Buttttttttttttt in short 400m races, the EVO will have the advantage of all-wheel drive (much better launches) and the fact that the gearing is really low. Even the torque delivery is concentrated around the lower rpm range (Rally purposes).

It will be a close match, and one to die for...

Hey thanks a lot rehaan

the SL55 has a 1/4 mile timing of 12.664 s @ 111.5 mph. so it has good chances of winning.

Check www.dragtimes.com for 1/4 mile timings.
