Firstly, I don't think ACI has still announced the dates officially.

And guess what I found? A 9 sec car being prepped for the drag? Guess this is one drag I cannot miss watching. Sneak peak.

Yup rumors here too of a Drag meet to be held at Jakkur in March. Awaiting confirmation. Keep you posted. Bangalore

I was seriously looking at the proposition of organizing a drag meet in Bangalore. And did approach the necessary people for it. But since state is still under the president's rule I was told nothing can be done till the formation of the Govt. So the wait continues. In the meantime I am trying to chalk out something similar to be held at CBE. If there is good interest shown by the tuners and their drivers it could well materialize.

According to sources the original problem started after last year's K-1000 Rally.. Apparently someone drove his car on the runway when Deve Gowda was about to land.. He got furious and warned the authorities about letting the runway for any motorsport events.. Since then there have been no drags in bangalore..

Finally someone gathered courage and is gonna talk to the authorities to get the stretch again.. Hopefully if everything goes well we might just see drag racing back in Bangalore.. Yeah

Have heard the dates for Mumbai Speedrun08 have been confirmed for 2nd and 3rd feb. Is this true???

It was when the plane was taking off the runway, a stupid guy in a ZEN shot across IMAGINE........
RESULT: SSS was immediately cancelled, only 5 cars had a run

I was at the SSS of K1000 whn this happened.

My friend had contacted Autocar about this and was told that they would get back to him. Till now no replies from their end so he is still waiting eagerly in Coimbatore.

From what I hear the dates have not been confirmed. Might be rumours that they have been freezed for the 2nd and 3rd.

AFAIK the Speed event has been postponed to some time in March. I was just discussing about it last night with one of the regular participants and he gave me this info.

So you planning on taking part with your M3 ? I am sure there will be some great competition in store, but definatly your car would add some excitment to the event.

Just remember BMW will void your warranty if you "participate in motorsport events"
