Yes, Chandok gets to test an F1 car for the first time..fantastic! No, he will not race this year and probably shouldnt as he is still learning the ropes in GP2. Maybe another season in GP2 with a few more wins and F1 test drives in 2008 should get him race-ready for 2009. By then Force India would hopefully be in a position to give him a mid-grid car as well.

motorsport is bloody expensive and i have reliably learnt that sponsoring karun has cost vicky chandok a lot of his personal wealth and fortune. hope karun does well enough in the test and in the full time drive (hopefully) in 2009 and becomes a paid driver in 2010/11. this way he will be able to payback his dad and sponsors who stuck with him from his karting days.

Apparently Mike Gascoyne has threatened to quit as technical director if Ralf joins. That would be a big blow to Force India if it happens.
Ralf can bring in star value, but can he improve the car without a good technical director. No ways.
We will soon see how Mallya tackles this situation. Love F1 for these things!

Another proud moment for all Indian F1 fans. Let us wish Karun all the best! Having said that, lets keep it real as this is his first F1 outing. This test is sure to catch the eye of front running GP2 teams, which is where he needs to be next year. Make us proud Karun!!

I dont think Karun did any professional Karting. Anyways, I completely understand what you are trying to convey.

Well i dont think it worthwhile taking ralf on board for force.
Best of luck Karun U got way ahead to go.
Do one more year in Gp2 and i gues he will be better off driving F1 rather than entering it now.
