Tom

Only if the Indian car has a foreign engine in it (E.g. a Maruti Zen with a swift engine).

But if its an Indian car with an Indian engine, it cannot.

GTO,
Are you sure about this? At last year's SpeedRun in mumbai TVS racing entered their Shaolin bike in 2 foriegn categories and got placings too. As far as I know this is the same Indian bike they race in the Indian open category.

Check the TVS web-site: http://www.tvsmotor.co.in/racing29Mar04.asp
click on the link at the bottom of the page.

Yup i'm sure its free! And yeah, just as a precaution get water.....plenty of it!! Last time around there was a drag at Jakkur, there wasn't no water and bad food availability.

Is race cover/insurance compulsory for bikes? The local Autocar guy in B'lore says it is.
However this wasnt the case last year after the competitors argued that most of the competition bikes were built from scratch and hence getting the required paperwork for insurance wasnt possible.

Tom, Autocar insists that cover is absolutely essential. do you have road coverage for this bike thats custom built?

does anyone have the times for the above 2000c category (accord/mondeo/etc...) from last years drag? and expected times this year?

for turboindia, are you running your car? do you know that there is a multiplication factor for cars with turbos and you will end up with the accords and the mondeos?

I think the multiplication factor for cars with turbo is 1.7 if i'm not mistaken. Could be 1.2 also. Not too sure though....
