No point. They will change the SR 3 times 2 hours before the big day. Idiots.

lol:
and imagine have gone through the entire process of changing over to a stock head (non ported and polished) again so that the sanctity of the "Street Stock" class is maintained... :Frustrati .... only to see a heavily modded (and in your face modded) RS whopping everyone in the same class. What a joke!!
A little birdy told me that there were over bored blocks running in the same class. I think the scrutiny was restricted to the first four words.
I would have loved to see which car would have stood up to a bored Swift with forged internals, running
"SHAMELESSLY" in the street stock class!!
Next year let some of us take over the scrutiny along with some pro mechanics.
Throw some of these offenders whoever they are out of the class read disqualification and see the standards changing. Its a joke right now.

What?! Did the Gallardo catch up and overtook you after the launch? If that is so, I am extremely sorry. Didn't mean to hurt you. sorry:
Couldn't catch a glimpse of the entire strip. |
Don't be silly, I'm actually thrilled that the only thing that beat me in the over 3 litre stock class was the Lamborghini. There was no chance I could beat a Gallardo...it's about 100 Kgs lighter and puts out around 85 bhp more. It also has an automated launch control and cog-swap against my manual 6 speed, so, all-in-all, no shame losing to a clearly superior car! :D

On the other hand if the driver of the gallardo had manual transmission to deal with as opposed to flappy paddles, it'd have been an interesting drag to watch... no?! Then it'd be more about driving skillss as opposed to pure HP.
Hey guys can any one tell me like what all modification can be done for stock race upto 130cc indian bike because i'm planing to get in the SR @ bangalore as i see that my bike which is a 125 cc stock does better time than the TVS victor i.e 17.690 sec on a quater mile run
thats right swapzone.we ran her at 60% efficiency as there was no competition.we ran her at " conservatory power " as there was no need to over do it. plus the track was not to our liking.though we did use the parachute for braking.it is a 2 speed sequential tranny with overdrive, if needed.yet to test the overdrive.she launches at 6000/6500 with just a pinch of NOS to spool it.the figures quoted by you were given to us by Autocar. they were very close to the figures we got from the ECU, after we logged in.in her last run, she was shifted from 1st to 2nd gear at 10,700 rpm and she was not redlining.
we were happy in the end,but not overjoyed. we are already looking at achieving better results at an undisclosed venue.from the beginning,we have known what she is capable of.
Congrats to all the winners especially T-Bhpians.
Didnt got opportunity to participate this time in the Speedrun, reason being entries getting full.Anyways it was good experience watching the Speedrun (especially the Skyline Run by GS), but the Event Management as usual was bad.

Congrats to all team-bhpians who got placed. I can see, Jiggy / Vikram, Scooby, Wolf, KBK_75, etc in that list. Way to go guys. All those who participated and did not win better luck next time, it takes a lot to enter your car for a run and race. |
Add diven_b,KSMotorsport & satan's_enemy to that list. Im not sure if the paras on the list is the same paras we have on our forum.
Speed Run 2008: A summary from a competitor’s viewpoint.
So, here is a summary of my experience at this years Speed Run organized by Autocar India.
The start was not too ominous when like idiots we were made to wait for over 3 hours at the Pre-even Driver’s briefing outside the auditorium. It smacked of sheer ignorance & un-professionalism on the organiser’s part to make people wait for 3-odd hours assuming that no one apart from them has any thing to do in life. And what was all this wait for? For a 5 minutes audience with the “Organisers” so they could hand over our packages which in many cases were incomplete including missing MAI Licences, stickers etc. We did not give much thought to this since we did not know that these missing stickers would be the major cause of our problems later on & also because we did not know what to expect.
Then came the actual D-Day i.e. Saturday on which Indian bikes & most of the Indian cars were supposed to compete & here is where the whole ordeal began going haywire. First, after a delayed handover of the track to the officials there was a problem with the timing system on one lane which resulted in a delay of over 3 hours while they tried to fix it. But, they were unsuccessful so after wasting a lot of the precious time they decided to run the competitor’s in the one functioning lane only. Talk about organization & professionalism!
Till then all the other competitors who were scheduled to run that day were waiting and it was much later that most of the car driver’s realized that there was no way they were going to get a run today with things getting delayed so badly & the day coming to an end. Most of the guys waiting then realized that they had wasted an entire day simply because of the un-professionalism of the organizers & nothing else. I mean do they assume that we get paid to do this so even if we waste a day or two standing around like idiots it doesn’t matter?? I mean it’s bad enough that to fulfill this hobby we have to deal with our so-called Tuning outfits and on top of that these people make us waste whole day(s) simply because they can’t or probably aren’t competent enough to do their job. What they should realize is that most of us have jobs at which we have to slog our asses off to make a living and missing a day at work means a lot of financial loss to most of us. let’s be clear we aren’t doing it for the prize money (which is peanuts anyway considering what it costs to prepare a car for the drags) and the primary motivation behind this is the fun & the enthusiasm of drivers/participants/tuners. On top of that people take you for granted & treat you like dirt and that in my book is simply unacceptable.
Anyway, with an irritated mood we left the venue to come again tomorrow at the revised start time (8am) hoping that things would be better the next day around.
coming up -> Day 2 (GS has Fun , at our expense ofcourse )
