My Star of the Speedrun 2005, was the Mitubishi Lancer Evo VI from Chennai. These guys drove down from Chennai, 1300 kms almost, in a EVO, didn't sleep properly in 4 days, busted a part, worked on the car non-stop, came on Sunday, set the fastest time of the day, and are probably heading back home tomorrow. Respect. It was an absolute joy to watch that car being driven that well. One of the very few drivers with nerves of steel, every shift sounded just perfect, the launch was perfect, and the car wasn't even running it's full potential.

Hey Sideways, are we still upto that 1000 buck challenge, the next time I come to Chennai?

Madan keeps a 1000 rupee note on the dash of his EVO VI engined lancer. He launches the car and you are thrown back into the seat. If you can manage to come forward and pick the 1000 rupee note, its yours.

Hahaha! That sounds like one of those "heads you win, tails you win" kind of fun challenges!

Guys its was my first speedrun and it happened to be really entertaining.I have around 33 pics from the event but no scanner to get them scaned and uploaded.I am really feeling sorry for this cause they are real good ones.Neways liked the way the Skoda RS ripped the formula car. Also the wheelie which poped by shaans valkryie was also shocking. But sadly the "game over" Zens lost badly....Hey but the Ambassador was real cool, appreciate the guy who pitted it in the race. Will surely try uploading the pics a bit late though. But then please bear.

Thanks To Dippy,Nishant and Nitroxx for taking the initiative to get me in for the Speedrun.

Awesome man, pity not even half of those cars were present at B'lore. But on the whole a mind-blowing event.

That is the Black Accord with the Marathi Reg. number. I don't think its Dom's..belongs to his friend in Bombay.

Amazing trip

1300 km of driving, a melted turbo, broken acctuator, clogged fuel filter, leaking radiator (happened at 6 in the morning on Sunday), no sleep for 4 days, eating lunch at 7 or 8 in the night etc etc. was all worth it. Setting quickest time of the day was the best feeling.

I would like to thank all the BHPians who came forward and offered to help. Overall it was an mazing trip and I look forward to doing it allover again. And yah guys the challenge is on for any body who is up to it.

And by the way - the rear diff broke this morning. Shapur of Autocar took the car for a shoot and we got a call from him sayng that there was some sound from the rear. apparently something inside the diff broke and the entire housing has collapsed. So it's back to the workshop for us.

Thanx again. Try and post some pics of the evo beating the hell out of the Ferrari.

Until Next year.
