I havn't a clue who organized the event but I heard something similiar regarding participation and I have no doubt that there was a good amount of illigal racing involved. People serious about motorsports need to have a more mature outlook at this, else its evolution in India will be slow...

IMO, the name is a little cheesy: Torquenite. I wonder if they think most entrants will have some serious torque to boast in the first place. I hope this event eventually happens, it seems to get pushed back a lot. I would consider participating and/or supporting it in some way...

OK Cyrus.
You said Speedrun and TorqueNite would be close to each other if TN took place in the last week of January. So, when is Speedrun? Also, if Bharat Petroleum's contract with Autocar India has ended, would ACI be allowed to use the name, "Speedrun"? Is the MAI still functioning? If not, which organisation is handling the Speedrun?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but, I've been really busy since mid November with other issues.

Great. Can you please ask the organisers to put up the forms, or can you scan and put them up or something?

addy, that info is all nonsense yar..God knows why people are assuming this. Speed is definately still organising this event with Autocar and the"SPEED RUN" will be back, bigger, and better.

Bigger is something I don't give a rat's *** about but better is something they could use for the last couple of years running. It is by far amongst the worst motor sports events organised in the country as of now.

The only decently organised SR was the last one in BLR, which would be -- 2006? Crowd control was pretty good, pit areas were clearly demarcated, and the schedule was kept to (atleast compared to other instances).

I supposed it's easier in Jakkur because there's so much space.

Forms, anyone?

2006 Speed Run wasn't too bad in Mumbai either. They went almost as per schedule, but that was mainly due to lack of participation from down south, and then most imported bikes not showing up either.

Cyrus my friend

Stress on the better word more than bigger would be of most importance as of now. More than the size of the event its the management which needs to be loooked into. If the existing event cant be managed properly, managing a bigger one is out of the question. Good management was promised last year too with good seating stands for the common car and motorsport enthusiast but as usual nothing happened. Most of the genuinely interseted guys were made to stand in the sun while many least interested VIPS those who think of the SR of just Sunday outing with family had proper seating. Fortunately we were some of the the lucky ones to be in the VIP area but we also had a tough time in there with the management who are least couteous people around.

I hope these points are noted . Make the SR a better event, not a bigger event.
