UCAL ROLON race - Round 5 - Pics attached

Went to the Round 5 of Ucal Rolon Race on Saturday. Good action, pretty fast races and amazing riders. You certainly need a lot of courage to drop the bikes around the corners like them.

Tried to catch some track burning action. Not very good images, best I could manage. Lots more on my Flickr, try the slideshow:

I think there were. These are only the afternoon session races. The morning sessions included the Honda stunner and CBR races. Got late for them.

Its actually another bike just behind it. I caught the image by fluke. There were so close that one mistake would have cost them both the race.

Its just fairings. I think most of them are fabricated ones.

A lazy mate and heavy traffic ensured we missed the CBR and stunner races. Honda had on display the CBR 150, Fireblade and a Hornet.

The r15's were indeed racing, in both the stock and modified classes (4stroke upto 165cc)

I'm number 30 in this pic (stock class):- IMG_1093 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I was on pole and finished 2nd in both races for my class. Overall finished 2nd this year in the championship, lost the first place title by 1 point to the yamaha team (anya racing)

Will be back next year!

PS: if you have any more pics of mine, please do share

Why have R15 guys removed the fairing. WOUld'nt it be more aerodymanic with it?
Who runs anya racing and who are the riders? Is Satish Bojanna running a team for Yamaha?
Lastly, how does the R15 stack up against the factory RTR Fi. I thought they would give it a really good fight will all that experience.
WHat kind of mods are they doing to the R15s in the modified class? Any 165cc bores?

In the stock class we run on the short track which doesnt really have a straight persay, we've found the laptimes to be slightly better without the full fairing. On the full track the modified r15's run with the full fairing.

Anya racing is run by a group of real estate people, they have invested heavily into racing and this new team. Shekar tunes for anya racing with support from yamaha

Apache Fi has not been homologated for racing yet but from what we've seen of test results, r15 is the better bike on the track.

Modified class R15's are full works bikes, i dont really think i can list out everything thats been done, but yes 165cc kits are part of that. They are very fast and run 2:01's on the full track.

2:01s That's awesomely quick !

Are these engines rebuilt for every event ?

P.S. Don't the race Esteems in the saloon-class clock 2:05s on the long loop ?

The CBR150'a are about 2 seconds a lap faster than the R15's. On the home straight the CBR150 clocks about 7-8kph more than a stock R15 (truespeed measured on radar gun)
