Car Rally for the Blind - 2008, Bangalore

Warmest Greetings from The National Association For The Blind, Karnataka Branch Four successful years down the road, NAB in association with Kreatives has organized car rally navigated by blind in co-operation with Karnataka Motor sports club.

The cause of this rally is to make the world a better place for the Blind to be a part of the global voice for the Society through adventurous sports.
We are greatly honored to invite you to participate in this special event “ CAR RALLY FOR THE BLIND ”.

The Visually Challenged will be the navigator in this Rally with the Route map in Braille, and the participant has to reach the destination in TSD Format. The event is full of fun and frolic binding you with new & special friends and the winner will be awarded with a trophy.
The Car rally is scheduled to be held on 30th November 2008 . Each participant will be given a Rally kit with T Shirts, Caps and light refreshments for the drive. The participant can be accompanied with a total of four members that includes the navigator.

The registration fee is Rs.1,000/- per car which goes as donation towards blind welfare exempted under 80G of Income Tax Act..

Saw this post in DH paper on Sunday is suppose. Spoke to organisers as well.. This was one event i wanted to participate, sadly i won't be in town on 30th..
Going to Dharwad for a wedding...

Hope some TSD rally is comming up soon..

As in bombay, its pathetic to see that TBHPians do not bother to go for such events. As Sam had rightly mentioned, we always go for the speed run, but no one bothers coming for this.

What an event to reckon? I think every city should organise this and every Team Bhpian should participate in this.

A bunch of the BHPians were there... I was supposed to go but as usual, working on Sunday didnt manage to squeeze time out.

Vikram_d and myself went for the rally. It was incredible fun, a nice drive, and, pardon the expression, a real eye-opener. Iceman and s0uljah were scheduled to come, but couldn't make it as both of them were working on a Sunday as well.

No one else from this forum of over 10,000 members and 1 million posts found time for this event. I'm sure there will be 1 million good reasons and excuses, unlike if there were to be a TBHP breakfast meet or drive to Yelagiri/Maddur/Mysore.

Myself and a friend took part, the cause is noble and had lot of fun in the event.Sadly could not take photos. V1p3R, I was not aware that TBHP were there. I would have loved to meet all of you. read a lot of reports about the meets.We placed 2nd in the event.
