Welcome back Saurabh, Baleno and Rishi.

I now look forward to a detailed account of the trip.

@ Saurabh: Could elaborate a bit about what all prep did the Bolero do for the Raid

This is fantastic news. I guess this is the first team to the Raid from Calcutta. Double kudos to them for that.

@Saurabh - Met Somdeb, it was indeed a commendable effort by them especially since their Bolero was literally on its last legs on the last day.
@adc - Yea we had to sleep in the car and keep start stopping it since teh temperatures went as low as negetive 16 deg

I would prefer not to discuss the prep details that went into the Bolero, in order to respect the tuner's privacy preferences. Please do not take this in a wrong sense. BTW, I did not participate in the raid though.

This time, there were atleast 3 teams from Kolkata. 2 Esteems and a Bolero. Somdeb is a very active member of Bengal Motor Sports Club and is a very respected driver in Kolkata.

Yes, thats what we were also getting to know from him as the Raid progressed. The Bolero was badly bruised, but he did make it to the finish line with it. Very commendable.

Me too Back Guys! This year it was the most treacherous routes ever with over 60% vehicles, including ours, not able to make it!

Reached Delhi yesterday morning after a nonstop 23 hrs Drive from Srinagar.

Unfortunately, could not complete the raid as our suspension arm bushes gave way when we reached Leh and could not find them at even the Durk Auto Zone, the Maruti dealer there

Vehicle got ready with Scorpio Bushes somehow fitted in the Esteem arms, 4 hours after the flagoff time for restart of Leg 4 and it was too late for us to start. Completed the rest of the raid non competitively.

Will post the detailed report and pictorial too!!

Congrates to all those who completed the raid. Positions dont matter here guys...completion does!!

Kudos to all those BHPians who participated.

My special congrats to those who completed. This is indeed one of the toughest competitions - nature and luck challenges everyone!

It is a long standing dream (not for another couple of years) to participate in the RAID and just complete it!

Well congratulations to all those who completed the Raid! I unfortunately had to turn back before it even started. I was there as an official and my co-driver had to return to Delhi a few hours before we had to depart for Fagu, from where we had to proceed to Khannag for Time Control duties on the 7th. Biggest let down of my life, but am looking forward to next year!
