Hey Guys..
I was in coimbatore for some days and i had been to the event and I would like to share some pics of the round-2 event of JK tyre racing championship...

Well let me give some more info of the event.
The event at Coimbatore was the Round 2 of the 6 rounds of JK Tyre National Racing Championship which is to be held in Coimbatore and Chennai. The event is held in Coimbatore and Chennai at the MMSC.
Round 1 - 14 and 15 Feb - Chennai.
Round 2 - 13 and 14 June - Coimbatore.
Round 3 - 04 and 05 July - Coimbatore.
Round 4 - 01 and 02 August - Chennai.
Round 5 - 05 and 06 Sept - Chennai.
Round 6 - 03 and 04 Oct - Chennai.
The event is categorised into the following:
1) Suzuki Swift category (these cars resembled FSAE car and had a swift engine in it.)
2) Hyundai category.
3) Superbikes.
4) SuperSaloons
5) Chevrolet Race Cars.

I have no idea about the results. I remember having seen the Orange Coloured Esteem win the SuperSaloon race.

The event saw a few ups and downs.
A biker fell off his bike just after a bend and the race had been stopped for about 15 mins. The biker sustained a collar bone injury and was taken to the hospital and the race again started.

In the SuperSaloon race an Esteem was out of the race (dont know why, just saw it off the track) , another Esteem had its rubber worn out and another Zen had moved out to the pitstop.

In the Chevrolet category a car had starting problem which was sorted out just in time.

Well it was my first such experience and i totally loved it.

That's Alisha Abdullah. She competes in 600cc category. You uploaded pictures of Rolon, no pictures of Formula LGB Swift? Even Swift had happened on the last weekend. If you have, do upload it.

Yes you are right..She is Alisha Abdullah, my friend took her autograph just to know her name..

Presently i do not have LGB swift pics.i was quite far at that time so i didn't take any pics..

Ok, no problem. If you come down for the Rotax round, maybe we can meet up. I was there for the Rotax karting round (6-7th June), the next round is on (11th-12th July).

Radha's car was really quick, it outran the competition on the straights and in the corners- for the technically inclined, the saloon class is turning out to be the most interesting to watch by far.

Yes, she did figure on the podium since the SBK class has been split and dissected and some more into categories depending on past results and experience. Not many riders fall into her class which is 'regulars' apart from 'experts' and 'litre-class'. So she ended up 2nd and 3rd in her category in the two races inspite of finishing eighth overall in both.

Simple rules. Maintain a CC:Weight ratio of 1.75:1 and you can basically run anything as long as the engine (Indian assembly) stays naturally aspirated. Most cars are running fuel injection with multiple TBs (2/4) but a couple of top cars from CBE are running twin-webers. Its an ongoing battle that just gets so much more engaging than watching control-engined formula cars zipping around, although their grip levels and corner speeds are jaw-dropping. The top saloons are only 2 secs/lap slower than LGB Swifts, and thats something.
