Best of luck Pulsar. I am certain that all the hard work put in by you will pay off.

Today is scrutiny and practice day and I hope there is a lot of action.

Wishing all participants the best of luck, I hope everyone has a safe and good meet. I hope the road from Bangalore is cleared at least today so that our friends from Bangalore can make it to this meet.

Cheers,

Thanx Ravveendrra! I am pretty much ok now. Might even see you at the Drag bowl. Just hope it's not full of water

And I guess our friends from Bangalore should use some 4x4s to get here.

It has started!

Today i.e. Saturday was the first day of the meet and was set apart for registration, scrutiny and practice runs.

The number of participants seems to have grown and the arrangements seem to be getting better by the day. One major grouse from the last event has been rectified and two giant timing boards now face the audience to display the times after each run. Like the organisation, the level of competition too is rising and the vehicles seemed noticably faster this time.

It was nice seeing a few familiar faces and some serious new cars and bikes. A few of the folks from Bangalore made it in spite of the disruption caused by the floods and some more are en route. Hyderabad is also happy to have a few participants from Mumbai and Pune too.

The weather gods were kind and the strip remained dry though it was cloudy and there was a crisp breeze all through.

I forgot about the camera in my car and remembered it only after most of the participants had left after their practice runs and as the light was failing so I restricted myself to taking pics of the Team Mars cars.

The lineup (only 4 of the 5 cars fit into the frame)

Deccan Quartermile Drag III- 3rd & 4th October 2009-100_2173.jpg

This is a Peugeot 309. Right?

Deccan Quartermile Drag III- 3rd & 4th October 2009-100_2169.jpg

Well this might not totally be a Peugeot (hint - look at the 'C' pillar).

I pray that the participants on their way are able to make their way here safely and that the weather holds tomorrow.

Cheers,
