What was Madhu's time? Did he manage a low 13?

Also heard that Surya's OHC VTEC (driven by Karthik) managed a 14.7 in pro stock. Can anyone confirm this?

11.4 is a fantastic time for the R35, just 0.3 secs off a Mclaren F1.

There was also mention of B16s, B18s and H22s. Wonder how they did.

As far as i remember , Madhu's was a 13.4 or 13.8 ( maybe im confused between 2 runs of his ) . There was mention of doing 12.4 as well but this could be the future.

Game over took away most prices in the open class . They did have a large crew and i dont recall them taking part in the pro stock and FI categories .

Jan Racing took a few plaudits and they had Shabir's fleet in their team as well.

The standout performer for me from the individual participants was Mr. Hyder Khan - stock V6 Accord , Diesel E Class one more ride i cant remember . He's been a regular over the part 3 events and constantly improving. Watch out for his passion and commitment in all future events.

Baban with his kit car did raise eyebrows. Jasoosi enlightened me that the car is one the Suzuki 1000 racing scenes that used to be held in Chennai.

The Porsche and other regulars like the GTR and Subaru were the other highlights of the imports. However Jan racing posed all these against a Civic Hatch that was truly impressive.

The Porsche was a bit disappointing since the driver stalled( im guessing ) a fair few times. It was either this or the other cars were jump starting , lol . There were reruns obviously so as to not disappoint the crowd.

PS - My observation on the Porsche was as a spectator and not one of the organizers. I tell what i see and its not like i got info on whats happening at the start line. If the case is different- dont shoot me :-)

for everyone looking at technical reviews and feedback , eeerm sorry i was too busy looking at eye candy that was more interesting that the timing boards , lol ah the smell of the latest perfumes mixed with burning petrol - its a perfect cocktail :-)

Edit : This event is picking up and gaining huge credibility . There was also signs of a special track being built for the event and this shall make the timings more meaningful to compare when it comes to Bombay. The current one is sloped downhil at the starting line and the gradient increases at the finish line.

The crowd has been appreciative and getting knowledgeable of the regulars and newcomers event by event. I see this meet making great strides in helping the tuning industry and the personnel boost their demand and gain appreciation. In future , this event is no more about personal passions and hobbies. The participation of Jan Racing , Racing Dynamics having their own stall with sponsored cars and Team Game Over creating a bang , all this mixed with the skills of individuals having a platform to show them on a more regular basis ..... these are all signs that we are going to have serious followers for the Deccan Quartermile from now on.

In today's newspaper there was a small report about the event. Apparently the photographer of that paper did not know what a drag race is or maybe just got distracted. So we get to see pictures of cheer girls but not even a picture of a single car!

I doubt the scrutiny team has the know how to check if it was stock or not and only source would be the friends/owner if any of them are members.

I do remember seeing an air filter brand sticker on the driver side quarter panel, so thats a sure upgrade unless OEM comes with such branding.

It was a lovely day. Lovely cars, lovely people and everyone's spirits were pretty high what with the more or less non-stop action that kept happening on the strip.

Was a pleasure catching up with Psycho and Ford_Rocam.

The Hyderabad Team BHPians I met up with were

absynthguzzler
pulsar56
Ardy & Shashank
nosfreak
torque4u
furioushpinx

Much has been mentioned by fellow BHPians already so I am not including a report and shall wait for our Nazim (who was seen lugging 2 DSLRs all through the day) to give his pictorial report.

However I would have to add that this time around there was a sea change (for the good) in the organizing aspect, the participant (quality and quanitity) and the crowd. This is truly getting better as events pass by.
