In Other words,

Reaching 140 (or any speed) is not the ultimate goal of a Race, but how fast you reach there certainly is.

Folks,

Just to make it clear.
We are NOT going to RACE.

However we will do circles around the track. laptime is no important, so is any sort of record breaking or top speed attempt of maximum speed while taking a turn record.

Know your limits and drive sensibly.
Most of all have fun.

Ok ! I have just PM'ed my probable 'Driver on hire' (no offence meant), for all the guidance and tips on the track. yet to hear from him.

@Mi10 : what made you go for Apollo's over Yoko's ?

+1. Personally I'm just aiming to learn my car's limits around corners (already know top speed from the GQ) and see what I can learn from the experienced hands.

Plus hopefully get a cool new profile pic for Facebook

The Fact that i already have an Yoko in my i10 and its insanley noisy.

i was contemplating between the Potenza and Accelre; ultimatley went for the accelere. Decision factor - Price

Good decision. If you think the Yokos are noisy, you should hear the Potenzas.

Which Yoko do you have on your i10 anyway? Is it the 185/60 R14 ES100?

Yes, its the 185/60/14 ES 100. I thought Potenzas were much better??

Also the dealer said something about the rating of the Tyre.
Potenzas are 'V' rated and Accelere is 'H' rated. Not sure which is better

Hey, Did your driver on Hire tell you his charges? I heard he is pretty expensive but worth the charges

Anything's welcome Vikram ! though would prefer a few rebate's as we are still not out of recession.

What do you guys use to time the laps ? if someone else is not timing it for you.

If my guess is right... Expect you car to be gunning for a specific WHITE ESTEEM and by the way if you are running good tires expect your car to be pretty quick.

Duh.. a timer of course

Besides hopefully all the trial runs should be over within the first 30 min else we would be left with very little time since everyone is going to have to wait for a while as the expected turnout is quite big.

Baaah.... mere eyewash.

H rated means 210kmph. Will your i10 do that? V rated is good for 240 kmph.

Now, you tell me, do you think this will actually make a difference?

Potenza GIIIs are ok, but they are old tyres. They arent sold anywhere else in the world.

However, they are noisy. Probably on par with the ES100.
