I am coming with my son, just confirmed our names. I am not participating now as I don't want to cause any damage to my brand new tyres, which I can ill afford to replace at this point of time. However I am planning a tyre upgrade sometime next year, and will surely participate in a track day with the old set of tyres prior to the upgrade!

I also have the same doubt as Hari regarding the insurance.

if you notify the insurance company that the accident actually happened on the track , then for sure your claim wont be entertained.

Maybe rally guys don't do well on track.
Just kidding point taken.

So a sub 2:30 is not even a difficult time on a Fiesta 1.6, if you know what you're doing.

Yup, you said it sir ji.

Again, could't agree with you more on that one.

Well its "claimed" that timings for the RD swift, elentra, SX4 was done using some fancy timing gear by the bangy gang.

Anyways as everyone said lets not get into too much "lap time" as we are not going to set any records, just to have some fun.

You will NOT ruin your tyres if you dont get excited on Track - But that is a very difficult proposition!

Its not difficult to preserve your tyres, you need to make sure you dont enter the corner too fast and make sudden steering movements.

Slow in, fast out will get you good laptimes and save your tyre as well.

Reminds me of this vid (very well explained by Sir Jackie Stewart)

Please do come siddartha... your RS was a treat to watch on the tracks. Just ensure you have enough fuel this time though

Cheers!
