Good to see you spreading the knowledge Sudev. At least some of us in Motorsport are taking it to grassroots level. And these aspirants can also be a help in organisation of events. Great buddy. Call if you have free time and if you need anything in Bombay.

TSD Training Camp at Delhi is now confirmed on Saturday 15 January. All those who have registered have been sent email for payment of fees. Venue location is being finalised today.

The camp at Mumbai still has a few slots open for any one wanting to lear about Time Speed Distance Rallying. The venue for Mumbai Camp on Sunday 16 January is:

Had the first camp at India Habitat Centre Delhi today. Total of fourteen attendees. I just guess TSD format is gaining popularity. Had participants from Dehradoon. Meerut, Chandigarh, Nagpur and one all the way from Guwahati.

The second back to back training camp was in Mumbai on 16th january. A total of fourteen attended. A very lively camp with lost of discussions and sharing of information. Banglore, Vizag, Nagpur, Ahmedabad besdes Mumbai were represented.

Have posted the zipped file to all participants for their notes.

I have been involved in rallying for a long time first as participant and later as an official. I also directly oversee the planning, set up and running of the longest TSD event in the country.

I believe that any decently prepared team has chance at the podium. I demonstrated this by taking fourth place in last years Rally of the Mughal Road run by organisers of Raid-de-Himalaya. This, when I was navigated by someone who had never rallied before.

I find that most first timers on TSD event, and many repeat entrants, have very little idea as to what they should do and what they are expecting. I plan to hold two TSD Navigation camps for teaching the fundamentals of TSD rallying. The camp would be restricted to few people only on first come first served basis.

Mumbai : February 19th 2011
Ahmedabad : February 20th 2011

* TSD fundamentals
* Road Book
* Navigation using road book
* Using time calculations
* Examples and tricks
* GPS or not?
* Is GPS a must?
* How to calculate time?
* Making sense of results?

Back from Dakshin Dare, where we got a podium finish.

I can't stress enough how much this camp contributed to us doing well in the rallies we have taken part.

Hope more and more new comers enter the world of TSD rallying through Sudev's initiative!
