Wow 40 mins is a good 20 laps per session(assumin you have a half decent car) That should be plenty. I have a feeling most beginers will call it a day after 3-4 sessions.

Atditya : Track Day - An opertunity for a person to ride / drive around a race track. This is not a race, but just for people to improve their driving skills. This is good for amatures to professionals. It is held at a racing track outside Chennai near Sri Perembatur.
You dont any thing except wheels and some safety gear.
Cheers,

800 rupees will be for a single day. Its like go-karting except that u use ur car, and a much larger interesting track. This is as close to pro racing.

Starts at 9 AM. Location: exactly 300 kms from bangalore on the NH4. The track is straight opposite to the Hyundai factory.
I think this will happen for 2 days,ie 17,18th of dec. PM me if u need any help.

800 bucks is a steal. You can wipe that out in a couple hours of go karting. I paid $100 last time I went to a track in Michigan.

Ok, I haven't responded because logistics for a student in Bangalore are tough. But hell, I'm interested alright!

Poncho, a few q's:
1. Is the Rs 800 fee per car or per driver? I read per driver earlier, but I'd like to confirm...

2. What are the prerequisites for driver attire? Car guys need only helmet?

3. Do we need any special insurance/MAI licences?

4. Can we show up on Sat, or confirm only by Friday? This will be a touch-and-go affair for some of us Bangy guys, if at all we show up.

Hi All,

We have planned to host a track day on the 17th and 18th December 2005 for both bikes and cars.

This event will be open to one and all, as long as the basic safety precautions are followed.

For bikes, the below safety precautions to be followed.
1. The minimum protective gear is full face helmet, gloves, boots and full riding gear (leather or alternate).
2. Pillion riders will be allowed - ALSO with above protective gear.

For cars, the below safety precautions to be followed.
1. The minimum protective gear is helmet and seat belt.
2. Front passenger will be allowed - ALSO with helmet and seat belt.
3. No Passengers will be allowed in Rear.

The charges are not yet confirmed, but will be sent out latest by Tuesday 13th December 2005.

There will be full support from the MMSC in terms of providing marshals, ambulance, doctor as well as a recovery vehicle. This will make it a very good opportunity for all the budding racers as well as others who just want to have some fun in their own cars/bikes in a controlled environment. There are already some superbikes from Bangalore coming for this track day, and there might be some fast cars too.

We will also be providing timing equipment for serious drivers/riders to time themselves.

Pls let me know if any of you are interested.

Best Regards
Sawan
