Good news for those seeking to participate in Ndure and Xplore versions. Some more slots are almost certain to be added to allow for the rush of participants. The categories had a wait list at close of early entries Sunday last.

Xtreme entries also have a very few slots left.

Always need marshals. Should have 4x4 vehicle and a companion and be willing to put in 8 days of hard work in return for food, fuel and opportunity to watch some action upfront.

Guaranteed body abuse due to work and sleep deprivation.

Haha I know I ahve already marshalled a few times and wanted to add Desert Storm to the list as well. Body abuse, companion guaranteed; the only issue is the 4X4 drive. Hope to have one by that time otherwise will come with a normal 4X2 and hope like hell that we dont need any assistance, lol. Should do?

Sorry to disappoint but 4x4 is a must or your duty roster become very limited. Find a friend or foe who has a 4x4 and persuade him (her?) to tag along with. More than two people in the car is acceptable but one car gets no more than one room acco - that is where provided. ;-)

But would love to have you on the team.

Hmm ok then the hunt starts. What are the probable dates for the next year? From what I see the only issue will be the wheels. Hopefully they get the Thar out by then.

Marshals are the backbones of running a rally. The capacity is dependent on your experience. Lack of wheels is serious draw back for officiating at a cross country event like Desert Storm. Not so for local rallies or track races.

The dates for Desert Storm 2011 are Feb21st-27th. If you are looking at February 2012 then likely windows is fortnight around Valentine Day.

@Sudev: ask that lil birdie, what are the chances of seeing that new vehicle in showrooms within this year.

Oh great , chances are that i would get it out of the DDA office on 15th Mov or latest by 17th Nov if nothing goes wrong. I'm ready to pay the price

Hi Sudev,

Have just filled in the online form for the volunteer application. I own a 2009 Safari 4x4 and have full Navigation, Photography and 4x4 gear etc. Also have prior experience as a volunteer DCOC in the Raid-De-Himalaya 2010 . I alongwith a friend were part of the DCOC team for the Xtreme version this year.

Let me know if I could be of any help, would love to volunteer.
