Guys, what is the current standing in the championship? Is it Naren or Arjun leading? What happened to Vikram Mathais? Is Leela tuning both JK and MRF cars this year ??

Hey there Mpower ,
Dont know about the Championship points but Leela is not tunning MRF cars now . They are being done by J.Anand ..

Vikram was involved in a serious accident (Spectacular one i may say ) during the Rally of the North and ended up with a broke hand and wrist . Sujit was badly shaken up but was discharged the same day.

Gaurav Gill would be driving in his place for this rally. The car which Vikram had the crash was a Complete wreck and when i was towing the car back , leela said that all that they can salvage from the car was the suspention(That to they would have to check once it was taken off ), and the stearing wheel .The seats also they said cant be used .

Lets hope this rally is a safe one ....

You can find the detailed Championship Points on www.mai.co.in

However only 1 point separates Naren Kumar (42) from Arjun Balu (41), so its going to be a nailbiting finish to the Championship.

Similarly, 2 points seperate Sanjay Agarwal from second place Prithveen Rajan for 1400cc honours.

okay guys ... I am back ..
what a start to Deccan Rally .. Flagoff happened at 12 15 from Katriya Hotel and all the cars proceeded to Parc Ferme at NTR Stadium for the start of SSS. SSS started off in reverse order of the entry list .. and the Battle Royale between title protaganists started off with right earnest .. First off were about 4 RSC esteems and then Came our TBHP guy Sanket Shanbhag in his Gypsy .. what a Phenomenol drive he did .. he impressed everyone with some solid driving even beating some of the RSC cars .. Joshi did brilliant driving and was the Fastest of the RSC cars .. Pritveen did calculated and fantastic driving to lead the 1400s pack ..he was timed at 4:19..Sanjay was 4 seconds behind him after he clocked in at 4:23.. Pritveen was infact the best of the rest after the JK and MRF Baleno 1600s . he even beat Gaurav Gill in Baleno ..
then came the Balenos and Arjun Aroor Rao threw the Gauntlet to Naren Kumar with timing of 4:12 .. Everyone was waiting for Naren to start and he didnt disappoint anyone .. true to his reputation of his being the BEST , he demolishe the whole field with his absolutely on the limit Driving and Clocked 4:07 .. thus leading the rally by 5 seconds ..
Jiby Malliakkal clocked in 4:21
Official Timings and photographs will follow soon

Good report Haryan, and nice pics too. Glad to know that some bhpians are still interested in rallying. I guess Naren gets the c'ship this year. The man is a Schumacher of Indian rallying.
Nice to see the OHC still in action. Indian rallying otherwise always looked like a one make series. Who is the tuner for Team Gulf/Chettinad Hondas.

I can envision full page ads in all newspapers announcing that they beat MRF fair and square. Well done JK. Welcome back to indian rallying.

Did'nt they also win APRC this year with Karamjit Singh in a Proton.
