guys we will be hosting a total of 4 events this year and things are in a state of flux and change all the time specially because of the short time frame involved in this event..but i want support from all you guys for these events because our purpose is to have mumbai buzzing with racing activities throughout the year and give you boys a chance to test your cars..we will make them bigger and better as we go along..give us a shot and i promise you it wont be something you regret..gautam singhania has confirmed that he will be participating as well and he will be racing all his cars..we are getting some very impressive tuner and modified cars and bikes as well. we will hopefully have a whole bunch of celebs at the event as well as the high net worth individuals who are coming

also a tuner challenge has been issued by ar motosports to all tuners who wish to compete with us for the tuner trophy
time to let your cars do the talking...

dont worry abt the categories so much,,there are very few people at the races who are actually STOCK..BEST of LUCK...its about doing the best with what you have

Re: Speedway 2011 : Mumbai drag races on 22nd & 23rd January!

Love the excitement and encouragement in getting involved put forward for the love of motorsport in your post!. Here's hoping that once our car gets set in time, we'll have something different(and worthy) to showcase at the event as well

vivan, your name sounds familiar. Anyways, Good to see someone do something in bombay for the Drag scene. Torquenite was nothing great as there were barely any participants and sadly the Speed run isnt happening anymore even after pushing with all my efforts. Hope your event is a grand success, and remember, every one will be looking at you to put a foot wrong and lots of people will say alot of things to imporve your events. take all those in a good stride and hope your events further are even better.

I eagerly want to attend this event atleast since I haven't been fortunate enough to attend any of the Speed Run or even Torquenite.

Thank you for the support cyrus. I am really trying to bring the racing community closer here in Mumbai. Yes, we have faced problems but we also have been getting over 5000 hits a day on our website. Our goal is to do 4 events this year the next one will be in march. Bigger better and much more entertaining. Please help us keep the spirit alive

Vivan - Just a quick question. Is a car with only a Cold Air Intake allowed in street stock category?

Also guys, where are you getting your insurance from? And what about the license?

Completely agreed. There's hardly been any fun events after the SpeedRuns. These guys seem to be going all out; good luck and hope it's a fab turnout.

I doubt, considering some CAIs do add horsepower

Here's a post from Rtech that will help (just replace MAI with FMSCI):

1. Get the regulations from the organiser. Thses should be out atleast 3 weeks before the event. Here you will find all the information pertaining to the entries, dates, technical regs, what you need to bring, how the event will run, the classes running, protest procedures.

2. Log onto The MAI Website and download the licence forms. There are different types, so check which one you need.

3. Complete the form...duh!.. along with the medical form which is to be filled up from your doctor. Send them in to the MAI along with the fees. The MAI will have your licence ready within 5 days max.

4. Now send in your entry form to the organiser and confirm whether they received it or not.

5. You may have to get high risk insurance for you and your car (rally cover). This will be noted in the regs if needed.

6. Once your entry is confirmed, thats it! Make sure you turn up on time with all your documents and MAI licence. If everything is in order, you will be issued a Competitors ID tag meaning you're good to go!

7. You car may have to be scrutineered too, so make sure everything is working fine.

Thats it. You're now ready to start racing! Simple huh! Have fun and be careful....airbags cost a bomb to replace...lol

Re: Speedway 2011 : Mumbai drag races on 22nd & 23rd January!

VERY IMPORTANT

Racing Insurance for those two days will have to be bought from your own agents..it cost hardly 200bucks for a day..we are trying to provide a list of operators for you guys to coordinate with and somebody who will handle all your insurance requirements from your car insurance to your racing insurance. please make sure your paperwork is clear and in order. our agents are not our responsibility and whatever deal you wish to make please make sure u have it done before the 22nd

Goodnews

Harley Davidson and mitsubishi will be featuring their cars and bikes there at the event including the EVO X

Gautam singhania has also agreed to extend his support by participation from all his cars

FYI

All vip passes and participant who want extra passes for their guest will be purchased from IARC itself...NO money will be exchanged at the event

If anybody wants to purchase covered parking for their vehicles..it is roughly 4500 per car per day and for teams with 5 cars and above it is 4000 only..these are cost prices..we r not trying to make money of u guys

Vivan, can you please help with the spectator scene. What's the scene going to be for the regular spectators? Will there be space for them to view the race?
