According to a recent report, Mercedes is developing a new sedan that will rival the Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Details are limited, but AutoCar says the model will be sold alongside the CL and resemble an "über-CLS." Furthermore, the car is slated to feature dramatic styling, a bespoke suspension and AMG engines. Besides being offered as a Mercedes, there are rumors that the model could spawn a Maybach variant. Nothing is official, but a source indicated the brand is looking at sportier models because of the interested generated by the Xenatec 57S Cruiserio coupe.
I fail to understand why Mercedes is persisting with its Maybach obsession. They need to dump this monstrous failure if they want to compete in the Rolls / Bentley segment
