BMW GranCoupe (4-Door 6 Series). EDIT : Now officially unveiled

BMW has already confirmed plans to build the GranCoupe concept, but we haven't seen the production model - until now. Leaked by an unknown Chinese website, the images are purportedly renderings for a patent application which reveal what the car will look like. While we cannot confirm their authenticity, the renderings seem rather legitimate. Like the 6-Series Coupe and Convertible, the GranCoupe will be powered by a 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and a 407 hp (304 kW / 413 PS) twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. The car will likely be unveiled sometime next year, so stay tuned for more information. Source: Worldcarfans

Looks more of 5 series , may be they want to compete with A7 , but front Grill design is becoming too common for everything in there range - some of spy pictures of upcoming 3 also have these cues , though easier for design / production department with such familiarity they are loosing on innovations that used to be mantra in past - time to recall Dr. Bangle

Wow, it really looks cool. The headlights are stunning and the upholstery is unique. Interiors look very nice. Rear is still a bit odd though IMO.

Wowzaaa! Greatttt product by BMW yet again. They got it just right, combined the CLS's sexiness with the A7's size.

I'm glad they did not ignore the rear seats as that is important for our market. Not blocking out the rear center like the CLS is a good move, an emergency seating for pile-ons always comes handy! There is a massive difference in legroom between the 5er and 7er, yet the 6er sedan seems to have not much more legroom than the 5. I guess the extra spae is used for more tight support. Also the seats seem a bit upright. Nonetheless it would be a better place to be in over the 5ers rear bench.

Although I like the idea of a suede roof with a split opening sunroof, a panaromic roof would be ideal! It would resolve the issues of having a low roof line by making it less claustrophobic.
I wonder why BMW doesn't adopt panaromic roofs across its top range. The 7 and x6 desperatly need them.

The 640d GT will be ideal for India but I'm curious the see what will come of the pricing structure. The 640d two door is 75lakhs and 730Ld is 85 lakhs. That leaves no room for the four door 6er. Either the two door pricing should be cut or the 7er will get the 40d engine and price hiked.

Holly Mother of Earth!! Its a work of art.
Really looks gorgeus. I also loved the somewhat different interior colour trims.

This should give some seriuos trouble to the 4 door sports cars genre.

I LOVE IT.

I am glad that at this price point they offer customers the option of normal shades of leather. This ICS colour scheme would have company with the red dash on the Figo. The car is a brilliant design and if they can manage to sell a decent number at their usually indecent markups, BMW has another bestseller. Diesel all the way, the high power petrol models will be halo versions, I expect a 620d CE at about 45 lakhs to set the sales chart on fire, provided, of course they assemble it in India.

Re: BMW GranCoupe (4-Door 6 Series). EDIT : Now officially unveiled

So a 2 door 5 series is a 6 series and this is a 4 door 6 series.

I'm going against the tide here but I don't really like it. The rear isn't as sleek as the A7 or even the new W218 CLS. I think they should have made the boot slope downwards a bit to differentiate it from the 5.

I would agree with Khanak that the styling of A7 is better than the 6 in here. But having said that, its one of the best designs churned out from the BMW stables. Its sleek with impressive interiors. The color combo looks good.

Nice fluid design but somehow those headlights just dont do it for me. They dont look well integrated and an angry or aggressive pair of eyes instead of a..should i say curious ??? look would have been a lot better IMO.
Overall design i would go A7 > 6 GC > CLS

What a beauty.....IMHO ranks right up there as the best looking sedan in the market today, after, of course the AM Rapide and the Maserati QP!

Re: BMW GranCoupe (4-Door 6 Series). EDIT : Now officially unveiled

Now this is what the F10 should have looked like. I'd take this over a new CLS any day, but the A7? Now that's a tough call. Doesn't look like there's much legroom in the rear, but then neither does an A7. Expect the 640d to be a hit here in India if they have any plans to launch it.
