The McLaren F1 was the last major production car with a central seating arrangement. It doesn’t look like that’s going to change for a while. Perhaps that’s why a Florida-based tuning company decided to convert this Porsche 911 (997) Cabriolet into a central seated homage. The Cabriolet drew plenty of attention at the ALMS Petit LeMans race in Atlanta recently. The company that built it, Centro 911, spent a massive amount of time shifting the entire cockpit further to the right. Modifications were made to the electronics and air condition system among other aspects. The seat shifts from left to right, aiding entry into the cockpit. |
