When we've overcome our fears...

Someday, when we have exported more software and consulting expertise...
when we're a better developed country...
when our fledgling automotive industry no longer begs legislation to protect it from low priced, high quality, old foreign cars...

...maybe then, we can prevail on our law makers to allow import of old cars again, the way some other countries do...

Maybe then we too, can import and enjoy old cars like this for under Rs. 7 lakh.

Yupp, to be honest both the old and new mustangs have started looking a bit too small compared to the Challenger and the Camaro.

Wow..not bad at all!Seems like a well maintained car.
It'll be interesting to see how many of the '08 Challengers make it to India.

Ram,

As is your hallmark, thats extremely well worded. But I fear, by the time India comes to a maturity that allows unconditional imports, petrol would be lone gone.

Even if assumed to be present, I can only imagine how much it would cost to quench the thirst of a 1970 Dodge Challenger.

No 10 Lakhs.

As it is we pay twice the amount for any car. For 20 lakhs we actually buy a 10 lakh car.

As it is the starting price of the car is estimated at $35000 which is around 14 lakhs given an exchange rate of 39.

A further devaluation of the Dollar will bring this down further. to around the 10 lakh ballpark (Heh! Heh!).

However as I said, we pay twice for everycar, if that does not happen. We get this for under 10 lakhs.

We can export software, softwear and whatever we want, the motivation for having a car like this for 10 lakhs will make us perform wonders.

I guess one of my posts got deleted or never got posted. The new Challenger will HAVE a B-Pillar so :( no pillar look. FYI they're pre-selling 6000 of these and dealers have marked up prices by atleast 10K.

All the images seen so far show a pillarless hardtop. Where did you get the idea that the new Challenger will have a B-pillar?
