Was it lack of a car like this, that stopped us from performing softwear wonders till date?

Spy shots of either the Challenger or the Camaro show a B pillar that was absent in the concept.

Taxation, import restriction, poor infrastructure and mostly lack of general knowledge.

I wonder why - the car has been available in the market for a least 2 months now via imports. Available at Exotic Cars, Reem Automotive and lots of other used/import dealers.

All that the arab guy needs to do is to pay Dhs.15 for an issue of Auto Trader.

But this is a crazy market - the Nokia 5800 is freely available in the shops at Dhs.1350 and yet there are crazy buggers bidding for it on Souq as though it was some limited edition model, last seen bidding at Dhs.1685!!!

The Challenger doesnot seem to be as popular as the Nissan GTR. I havent seen any challenger on the roads but remember seeing GTR's all around Dubai within days of its launch worldwide.

The GTR's were imported by Arabian Automobiles directly( american specs) as a special order for the VIP clients.

Dodge Chargers are available via the Awir market but check the pricing, some duds asking 300000AED for the SRT's and that too american specs.
We will be selling the same for 200000 Gulf specs and deliveries scheduled from March 2009.

last I heard people shouting that Chrysler builds cars that nobody wants!!

Chrysler also planned to revive the Barracuda before they went into red.

A few of my personal likes also include the 4th gen Camaro, Pontiac GTO and the second gen Pontiac firebird.

Challenger is a good move by Chrysler. Muscle cars distinguish the Big three.

You forget that the GTRs were initially NOT imported by Arabian Auto - the same dealers were selling those for ridiculous prices at 600 - 700 thousand.

The point is that there are people around to pay that kind of money, warranty/specs notwithstanding.

Hey Steer, but dont you also know that the Arabs favourite above anything else included the Skylines and the Supras so its nothing new the GTR's also do well. But how many people actually know the Challenger as a product and Dodge as a manufacturer?
Many dont even recognise its an American Manufacturer.
