400nm torque from a 3l Petrol???? BMW rocks! And here's the best bit. That 400nm is available from 1500m to 5800rpm. Amazing stuff. BMW at its Petrol best!

M3.. I would think not.

Forced induction is against Motorsport division's philosophy for roadgoing cars. Then again Bruhnke, head of M division said that turbocharging is acceptable, supercharging is not. The next M3 has a 4.0-litre V8 with 420PS. Quite achievable even without turbocharging. This one's a 3.0-litre so for the M3 looks extremely unlikely.

BMW was last preparing a sporty version of the 3-series, aimed between the 330Ci and M3, a sort of Audi S4 rival. So maybe this is the engine they're gonna use.
