Re: Uncloaked: 2013 Gen 3 Porsche Boxster S

Whats with the hideous bar like structure on the boot? Otherwise it looks almost the same as the current boxster. Can we have some head-on shots to see if there are any changes to the front?

Overall it seems to be more attractive than the current boxster. I wonder if it'll have a convertible hardtop.

This is spoiler. And I quite like it! Never seen a spoiler going into tail lamps.

What kind of a hideous spoiler is that which goes over the tail-lights!!! Looks similar to the previous gen otherwise. Expect the interiors to be Panamerish.

Pretty bad spoiler job. Looks like done in JC road, Bangalore, as one would see in many BPO Sumos...! One like in 911 would have looked better by far.

I dont seem to like this boxster very much, prefer the shape it had in 2002 . This shape looks very much like the MR-S

Re: 2013 Porsche Boxster

No doubting the MR-S / MR2 similarities, but the new Boxster looks HOT! Man, you gotta hand it to Porsche for successfully evolving their designs. Main reason I like it is that it looks far less feminine than the previous-gen.

0 - 100 in 4.7 seconds for the S? Gawd, when did the Boxster become so fast. That's more than enough performance for 95% of the 911 owners out there.

Can't wait for the Cayman version.

I think Porsche has progressively made the Boxster less 'feminine' or more serious from the first to the third generation although tbh I didn't really dislike the first generation either. the same goes with the SLK. The car has really matured although I prefer the previous generation SLK to the current one.

I also hope the new Cayman looks a bit less awkward than the current one. I'm sure the designers at Porsche would have taken the Cayman's design into consideration while designing the Boxster.

Re: 2013 Porsche Boxster

The new boxster is a beautiful piece of machinery. I reckon that this would be the next hot selling coxster in dubai. Now just praying that the prices dont go up further.

Regards,

The new Boxster S - Boxster Overview - Models - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG
this information prompted me to check the website and i was building my porsche last night. A visit to the dealership at The Ashok , Delhi followed and I was told :-
1) Dealer is not equipped with any information. They just knew that its coming but will take nothing less than 4 months to reach India.
2) No discounts on the older boxters. (though i would hate buying an outgoing model even at 50% discount)
3) One will have to settle for the combination of upgrades they have in stock once it arrives else a minimum wait of 4 months to get the car u want.
4) 20 % booking amount , 40 % as soon as the car is ready for dispatch at the factory n surprisingly the remaining 40% as soon as the car reaches Indian port. 100% payment without looking at the car.
5) No test drives for sports car . I was told i will get the same feel by driving their only test drive vehicle , a Cayenne which wasnt even available .
6) When only S models are imported why do they have prices and specifications for the other lower variants ?

I wonder is this how I have to buy a car worth 80 lakhs on road .

These reasons, my friend, are why you need to wait for VW to take over Porsche dealerships.
