it was planned long long time back, but no more...this was done when they were using the SL platform to make the car..but they decided against it, i forgot where i saw it and its for the best..the only thing merc needs to do now is make a RHD version of the SLR..so that we can have this car in india :)

Infact, I was thinking about this some time back while browsing through the pics of the SLR Concept.

I'm not too sure on this, but when reading the same news on other forums, I read that it isn't a good idea since McMerc had apparently invested a huge sum of money on the hard-top development and is in fact very advanced so the drop-top would be one more cost factor which would ruin the SLR.
