I have now started taking Lamborghini as a bench mark for things coming to Audi, VW, Skoda and so on in the near future. The DRL's which I 1st time saw on this labo are now coming in the Audi A7 and in the forthcoming Audi A4.

What's new? Murcielago Barchetta, LP640 Roadster, SLR Roadster, all does the same

A7 has normal pearl string-like DRLs. The new A6 and A4 looks inspired from the Avent.

hmm. Somehow i feel the aventador is a far sharper car in terms of the aesthetics. The murcielago (and to some extent the gallardo) somehow lacked the passion of a diablo or the countach. The Aventador seems to be a step in the right direction.

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster - First Ever Spy Pictures!

Spy photographers have caught a prototype of the open-top Lamborghini Aventador Roadster super car out testing in the winter wonderland of Northern Sweden.
At first glance it could easily be mistaken for the coupe variant, but looking a little closer we can see the carefully placed black tape over the roof. Instead of a retractable roof that would automatically tuck away behind the seats, it is actually a removeable roof panel that drivers will have to stop and take off manually.
Under the hood, the Roadster will boast the same monster that is also in its coupe sibling. The 6.5 liter V12 engine bangs out 700 PS (690 bhp / 515 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque and is mated with a a 7-speed independent shift rod transmission. The LP700-4 Aventador also features a Haldex all-wheel drive system.
The coupe is able to to accelerate from 0-100 kph (0-62mph) in 2.9 seconds but the additional weight of the roadster should add an extra tenth to this time with the roof on. A further three or four tenths should be expected with the roof removed.

BTW is it illegal to take pictures with your own personal camera of vehicles that are out testing on public roads? If so, what's the idea behind that?

Aventador production is limited to 600 units per year.

Slightly OT but have you guys seen the Lamborghini Aventador LP 760-4 Dragon Edition. I think it looks smashing . IMO it would look good as a 'Roadster' too. Source given below .
