Is the launch of Mission L scheduled for this year? Tried searching and didn't find clear answers.

Well done Eminenttismo. The car does look well camouflaged.
I wish they had brought this to India and not the rebadged Vento for India. I dont see this car making it to India now as it would be a big hassle for SKODA to position this car between the existing India specific Rapid and the Laura.

Thanks. Well the Indian Vento does the job,I suppose. Customers in this segment, don't care about the design,engineering,do they? Mostly Chauffeur driven?

VW wants Škoda to be entry-level. Now if they bring the new MissionL based Rapid,the additional tooling costs, development costs etc; will only take the price higher. What say?

It is a VW Golf sized car, which means that it is definitely bigger than the Vento & Indi-Rapid... albeit in Octavia's (that was sold on India) category in terms of size, & the current Octavia (Laura) is a size bigger, as far as I understand.

So I was right all along! The Mission-L Concept is indeed the Rapid and not the new Octavia/Laura!

It's disappointing that we in India get a re-badged Vento when instead, Skoda should have brought this car here. But I can see why they wouldn't want the actual 'Rapid' to be sold here.

Not only is it bigger than the Vento (however marginally) I'm sure it would have been priced slightly higher too. And with VAG's strategy of keeping Skoda as a brand a notch under VW, wouldn't have worked if they had brought this car here. It would definitely have an impact on the sales of the Vento and that's a bit of a no-no for VAG in India.

However, I do hope they bring this car here a few years down the line after the current Rapid gets a bit stale, and then maybe base the Vento on this car.

Being bigger is one part. This one being an international model will have a marked improvement in quality compared to the market-specific Rapid/Vento. Weird strategies to make the big brother look better

Wonder if it now makes sense for Skoda to bring in the Euro Rapid as an Octavia into India and forget about bothering to replace the Laura/Octavia in India. VW can use the Jetta to target the upper c segment and the Euro Rapid could easily be priced between 12-15L (on Road).

At 12-13 L their is a huge market and the old Octavia in India was a huge success at that price point. There are volumes at that price point. At 17-20L, the demand is still limited and at best companies do a few hundred units. No one does thousands of units in a month.

No the next gen Octavia will be launched as the Octavia in India. The Laura brand name be taken off the market I'm assuming. The current Laura is an Octavia as well. The Euro Rapid may never make it to India.

No, Euro Rapid is not coming to India as Octavia. Octavia III(next gen Laura) will come to India as Octavia. Skoda will stop using India specific Laura name.

I'm pretty sure that's what they will do. Skoda has very confused strategy when it comes to names for their cars in every country.
