BMW Zagato Coupé - Unveiled!

One Word - Stunning!

Quote:
BMW has officially unveiled the Zagato coupe at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

Based on the Z4, the one-off model features a handcrafted aluminum body which is covered in exclusive Rosso Vivace paint. While the rear end has proved to be controversial, it has a unique design which incorporates a transparent panel, a rear diffuser and a dual exhaust system.

Official specifications haven't been announced, but sources say the car weighs 200 kg (441 lbs) less than the standard Z4 and features an upgraded engine with 400 PS (294 kW / 394 hp).

Such a beautiful car. I love what they have done with the grill. Mean and Aggressive. I think that is what bmw should be doing now. Enough of playing safe, BMW. Unfortunately it will only be a concept.
Hope that new design head, that Lebanese dude, brings in some fresh aggressive touch to the current more civilized range of the bimmers.

It's beautiful. Just like any other Bimmer. But this one has hints of a Viper and the Ferrari FF. Inspiration, is it? Love those high cheek bones treatment of the front bumper complementing those pretty eyes

Re: BMW Zagato Coupé - Unveiled!

Looks like a result of a cross between a Z4 and the FF. Its hideous from the rear. The FF effect dominates at most places, the twin-bubble roof is disturbing on this one. Z4 is gorgeous in its stock form, this avatar is dressed to be hip but it lost the earnest beauty.
Strange enough to see no female models lined up in the event..!! Is it the Eurocrisis

z4 meets chip foose.
Amazing looking thing, but doesnt show a lot of effort in the design.
Too bland for a concept/one off.

That's odd. I thought it looked like a cross between a Porsche Cayman (window area - glass house) and an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.

Still, it's a great looking car.

It's high time BMW give us a proper production Supercar. Mercedes and Audi have already jumped onto that, with the SLS and the R8. Why is BMW taking so much time?

I'm really looking forward to a supercar from BMW with hints of the M1. Now that would be sensational.

Cayman, yes to some extent but where did you find slightest Alfa feature in this one, even while typing this I am gazing the competizione and this one side by side. My thoughts do drift towards a Morgan looking at the roof, but am not sure, maybe a pure misconception that all wiered things look alike

Agree totally, something beastly and beautiful needs to come out considering the R8 and the SLS, common Beemer gear up the value chain !!

The gentleman said it weighs 200 Kg. 'less' than the Z4, not that the car weighs 200 Kg.

Ahahahahahahahahaha. :stupid
Any ways a 200kg drop is also damn nice. The looks of BMWs are becoming more and more aggressive. Wouldn't say its bad or good. Just an observation. They are more boy racers than business class racers.

Re: BMW Zagato Coupé - Unveiled!

A Viper take off with a BMW snout makes for a decent looking vehicle, but with a proposed 'production' of just 100 units, I wonder why even go through this elaborate exercise of 'unveiling'.

Love the front and that signature Zagato roof. And Superb grille, the shape and the detail of it.

But that rear is not very tight is it? Looks a bit ungainly.
