Aston is reviving the iconic name, Vanquish for the DBS successor.

The Vanquish name is back in the Aston Martin lineup, according to CAR Magazine. They report that the British luxury car maker will revive the Vanquish name for the Aston Martin DBS successor, which is based on the AM310 design concept revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2012 about a week ago.

The magazine also released the very first picture and video of a totally undisguised 2013 Vanquish rear end showing a very different back from the current crop of Astons. The cameraphone spy video shows the integrated rear spoiler and a pair of blunderbuss exhausts part of a large diffuser panel, which is designed for maximum aero efficiency and air-cleaving. You will also spot the One-77 styled rear lights.

For the time being we will call the new model and successor to the DBS, the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish Mk2. Stay tuned for more soon!

Great, Aston martin builds great cars and the Vanquish was no exception. And the tail lights inflenced from Aston One-77 are clearly evident.

This is going to be another successful Aston martin.

Too bad there's no real risk taking in design with supercars these days. It still sports the same profile from the DB7. The rear tail lights kinda remind me of the 911's rear end.

EDIT: Aston Martin have unveiled the New Vanquish on 19th June, 2012.
Forward-looking styling cues include elegant new waist, LED rear light blades and elongated side strakes are derived from the 1.2m pound One-77 supercar. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.0 liter V12 gasoline unit mated to Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic transmission, generating 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque.

Performance is rated at 4.1 seconds for 0-62mph and a top speed of 183 mph. . The price of this Aston starts from 189,995 pounds with deliveries expected to be starting from later this year. This another handsome Aston will also follow the lineup of it's another members!

Good god that looks fantastic.
The interiors feel a little drab though... the great swathes of monocromatic leather and and some uninspired controls could've been augmented with some more modern touches.
The front end seems a bit fussy, but I'm nitpicking here. That is one stunning looking piece of kit.

Ah after a debacle interms of design with the V12 Zagato, AM have come a long way with the new Vanquish. You could find it incorporates most of the design cues and elements of the recent cars from its Stable. The Virage/Rapide style Headlamps, One-77 inspired tail lamps amongst others. I Agree a pretty handsome car overall, would love to see this in flesh once out in the market.

Finally the ugly zagato will be brainwashed, this baby rocks. V12 zagato front somehow resembles with Bane's face in The Dark Knight rises .
The One-77 tail inspiration is quite visible with perhaps the same front wing tech from the Italia, but overall this one is definitely a beauty and true to its predecessor.
