Looks like Tata has silently started exporting the Indica with a 1.4 litre DICOR engine. When is it being launched here?

Check out

which is the International section of Tata Motors website and click on the Specifications link.

I took this from the site

Indica DiCOR
Type
1.4 litre DICOR
Max. Torque
140Nm @ 1700-2700 rpm

I am truly stunned.
I was about to book an Indica turbo but I think Ill wait a while now.

Hmmm.... the figures dont seem to be too different from teh Indica Turbo

the only thing is that torque comes in approx 800 rpm lower.

Read in some other post that the dicor indica can be tuned to give 90 Bhp and approx 18 KGM of torque.

Now THAT would be an engine!

imagine what dicor could do to mileage and nvh.... seems to be a winning proposition... anybody know about the time frame of launch..

Its not just about the torque figure.. i guess NVH levels, Emission levels, will be much much better than the TDi.

great news but what chances of it being launched in india?perhaps they have posted it on the website for the export markets model.definitely worth waiting for it though.hope they improve their gearbox too when they launch it in india

Damn if this is coming out i'm getting one ...

Now Palio diesel has competition.

i hope the specs remain the same during its Indian launch. Do they sell diesel palios in tata dealerships.

What is the max power output of the Indica Dicor engine? The torque specs look good.

Coming to your question, Tatas do not sell Fiat diesels and vice versa as of now.

I think the DICOR engine will be first put in the Indigo and gradually downshifted to the Indica.

Palio diesel lost it after the Indica turbo. the DICOR make it a dinosaur equivalent.

One question to the indica owners..... on the road i see quite a lot of indica's with rear wheels (i dont know the exact techie term for it) looking like / \ ... why is that? And it seems to be a common problem with indica more so with the older one (pre v2's) and lesser in the v2's but still there... is it easily corrected?

you mean negative camber angle....

I have also noticed that...
noticed when there are more people sitting at the back...

Most of them are taxi's frequently overloaded and never sent for alignment.
