So the SX4 hatch is around the corner. For change return of the big hatch after the exit of the Chevvy SRV.
Picture from India? The cars appears to be left hand drives. Yes they are sticking to the right hand side of the road. Then the 2013 SX4 hatch.

The SX4 is sold as a hatch in several other countries. There is even a variant with 4x4 and high ground-clearance. What we see here is the platform for the sedan SX4 that's to be sold in India in the near future. These pictures weren't taken in India.

I see a Kizashi inspired grille. I'm guessing it should have more Kizashi-design overtones, especially the front lights.

It will be very interesting to see how MSIL places it in their India Product List. Swift has already become a very premium hatch and just above we have the Dzire and if they price it above those I doubt they will find many takers.

These spy shots are not taken in India. Internationally, Suzuki has SX4 in 2 body styles, Sedan and Hatch. Both are segment above Swift, so higher price than Swift is justified. Most probably Suzuki will launch the sedan only and not hatch.

IT will replace the current SX4, but maybe with prices similar to the verna etc(now its a bit cheaper). But my worry is that 2013 is too far away for launch. If the car, at least in our market must survive, then the facelift must be launched at least within three four months. Else people would have forgotten the car totally, for it to regain some fame.

Will this even reach our shore or maybe a 4X4 version of the hatch with increased ground clearance? I doubt it. We Indian would have to be contend with the sedan version. Or will Suzuki surprise me and get this to India. Wishful thinking I must say.

Firstly, like everyone else here, I too believe that the hatchback version may not make it to India. Secondly, if there is going to be a facelift of the SX4 in the near future (which again is unlikely), all we can predict are some different head and tail lights and probably a re-designed grill. The reason I say this is because MS upgraded the engine with VVT in the recent past with minor other changes, hence I don't foresee an all new SX4 being launched any time soon. Just my opinion.

I see some looks of Kizashi, the lack of boot makes it look more agile and fast. Will they bring the one without the boot to India or the new one will be similar to the current one with changes only in the looks department.

The 4x4 version of Sx4 can also be brought to brake some numbers from Scorpio, Duster, Safari etc.

I am in Shanghai right now, and i can see a lot of SX4's on the road. And they are all Hatchbacks, including the 4x4 ones.

Nice scoop @ Romeomidhun. The spy shots seem similar to the ones we saw of the new Swift a couple of years back. Though this is of the hatch, the sedan is what will come to India.

SX4 was always a good sedan. When launched in 2007, it had just 2 or 3 competitiors; City ZX that was bulbous and lacked power (non vtec), Verna which was not a good looking sedan. Hence SX4 did very well for the 1st couple of years. But then a lot of competition came in - New City, Vento, New Verna, Rapid. Customers had more choice and SX4 was now seeming to be dull and old looking. The launch of a facelift and VVT and Diesel engines did somewhat pep up sales, but of late, SX4 is really down (thanks also to Ertiga effect)

What Maruti needs to do is to bring in the SX4 sedan with a new 1.6 K series engine (around 115 BHP) that also is fuel efficient and get the diesel 1.6MJD heart. Price band should be around 8-12L with all or most of the features present in the Verna. This only can revive sales to around 3K numbers a month.

oh btw the front quaterglass is very much there.. in the sypic too. Yes a 4x4 hatch with raised ground clearance would be nice competition to the EcoSport and the Duster.
