All the cars in the gumball are owned by thier owners and just get them stickered up and drive them like bat outta hell and have a wild time partyn in the evenings. The best thing about taking part in the gumball is you get to race at high speeds on public roads and race other super cars and the biggest bonus- girls a galore!!!!. The amount of women there are around the gumball event at every pitstop in the evenings!!!! Wow.
This year there are cars from not only europe and usa but also from Dubai and HongKong.

Thanx BAD 13OY !

McLaren Mercedes is flying a crew and gear over to thailand to fix the SLRs that had problems with the alternator. And just to insure the other ones are okay the other SLRs will be checked aswell. At the start of the Gumball there were a stunning 6 McLaren SLRs this year. They said Lamborghini was the new Porsche this year the week before the rally, apparently ... SLR is the new Porsche this year!

But 3 of the SLR's have broken down during the European leg with the same alternator problem. This means the McLaren SLR is the most unreliable car of the Gumball rally this year. We hope the drivers are able to arrange alternate transport or get their cars fixed in time to do the Asian and US leg.

One of them being of Sachin Patel .... (Team 21)

A $100,000 bet ! Who will reach LA first ... Lambo or Ferrari ??

Ok get this ... Team 96 and Team 64 put down a $100,000 bet on who’s first to L.A. during Gumball 2006. James or Uno, in other words, Lamborghini or Ferrari?

James (Camo Lamborghini Gallardo) ... Team 23

Uno (Green Ferrari F430) ... Team 45

P.S. : I hate the paint job or the camo wrap on both :(

njoi,
ash

Id put a £100,000 bet on the F430 on making it to LA and of course depends how good the driver is !!!!but with having both the cars i can tell you, lambo is not as reliable as the F430. I have had the Gallardo since they were first out in dec 04 and it has done 5,000 miles. I got the F430 last year April and it has done 17000 miles in a year. And not had any problems with it even once.
I heard that SLR is the new porsche this year too!!! The problem in london is there are way too many porsches and SL, and driving them about is not as special as it used to be . Need to be in an SLR,Enzo or Carrera Gt to really stand out!!! What do you say??

Awesome work ash, those are some real good posts and pics! that camo Phantom was the daddy car, too bad he crashed it. The front grill would have made a supercool momento hehe. And i really liked the fighterpilot style body decals on Patel's SLR. It has a great look and feel to it. Keep the updates coming.

Cheers.
