The 2013 Civic is to debut at the 2012 LA auto show.

Well its much improved over the current USDM version. This USDM Facelift infact looks better than the Asia Model that was launched in Thailand etc.
I see Honda has been hugely influenced by the 7 series (rear end design).

I saw this car with my eyes on the road in Thailand. It looks much smaller than the outgoing Civic and almost (well, almost!) resembles the City in size. In a sense, it looks a segment smaller than a typical D1! And, India is not getting it anyway as Honda has announced.

Looks decent although not as radical as the current gen Civic in India. Honda should act fast and get it to Indian Shores. The Civic sales are dwindling badly.

The accord face seems to be brought in to the Civic. I dont think Honda will launch it very soon unless they have the 1.6 diesel ready for India.

Not sure if this would be coming to India. Even in the previous generation of Civic, the ones sold in US looked slightly different from those sold in Asia and Australia. In Europe, Civic is sold as a Hatchback, so thats unlikely to come to India as well. I guess we'll have to wait till new gen civic is launched in Asian markets.

I guess they would do so only when they have the oil burner for the car. This new refreshed Civic is the result of consumers rejecting the looks of the 2012 Civic. More details here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/intern...rts-tests.html

I believe this is the version we will get in India when they decide to launch. As per the speculations, end 2013 is when it is supposed to launch, with a diesel option too.

Well, that thread talks about a speculation rather than Honda's decision, rite? Till this date, there has been nothing official from Honda saying that the they are discontinuing the Civic in India.

Only thing they did was to postpone the 9th gen Civic launch, till they get the refurbished version ready. Now they have got this done.

In addition, Civic in India is a CKD, so there wont be too much that Honda will have to do to get this in India, with our without the diesel engine.
Agree, Diesel will change things for Civic though, but is not a reason for not bringing this now with a petrol only option.

Spot on. Whenever Honda launches the new Civic in Thailand, they would be forced to launch the new model here too, assuming we get the CKD kits from Thailand. Costs would be way too high to still produce the old model for India (using a separate assembly line?) once the new model production starts in the Thai factory.

Looks good, all grown up and baby Accord-ish. Significantly better than the 2012 model which was an eyesore...!

Now Honda needs to get this into the country quickly and that too with a diesel mill. Else they would see the market completely pulled from under their feet by Toyota & Skoda, which infact its nearly there.

My god that looks brilliant! A bit like a mini-Accord, although the headlights and fog-lights remind me of the current generation City.

I'm really hoping they plonk in a 1.8L or larger diesel engine in this, if they put one.

I have heard / read that that Indian diesel fuel is not compatible for Honda diesel engines. What is so specific about Honda's engine when Mercs, BMWs, Audis, etc engines can run on India diesel but not Hondas.. ?
