Don't forget that downloading these shows is in fact, illegal!

Just saw it, but from where did they get the Mahindra?
Looks more like an original Willys JEEP than our home grown thing, sure that fellow JEEPster TBHPians will not appreciate the Mahindra being a contender for worst car in the world.
Heard about Mahindra Jeeps imported in Australia and South Africa , but U.K?
EDIT: oops, just googled, Mahindra did export them to U.K, called CJ3B and all.

re: Top Gear Season 19 - Currently on Air

Just watched this now. Nope its a Mahindra and they say its the worst car ever, but not giving it the title because it didn't cost much.

I think the old Mahindra's were a bit over hyped in here anyway. But I guess it enabled people to off road at reasonable costs.

How ever as India becomes more affluent and more pure bread 4x4s by the big boys are introduced here, I reckon within the next few decades the Jeep fanatics here and elsewhere will be driving Range Rovers, Land Cruisers and Jeep Wranglers.

These Jeeps will always carry a certain 'charm' with them that you'd never get in a modern example. And people will pay for the charm.

Also, modern cars have a lot of electronic tech and goodies that might go wrong, and when you're in a sticky situation, that's the last thing you'd want! Pure mechanical engineering is always the norm.

Also, nearly every car has a certain following. You'll find forums and websites dedicated to the most inconspicuous automobile on the planet. TG themselves lambast the Morris Marina and the Reliant Robin, but there are people who love these cars and have created dedicated clubs for them.

Getting back to the topic, it's no surprise that Hammond drives the Viper. Don't we all know his love for all things American?

Watch this deleted scene from the India Special for proof:

TG S19 will start airing from 27 Jan.
  • Will be the shortest season ever, just 5 episodes.
  • Clarkson will be testing the Pagani Huayra.
  • The trio will drive the AM Vanquish (Jezza), LF-A (May) and SRT Viper (Hamster) in the Christmas Special episode.

err..they call is a teaser. I don't think so cos it doesn't actually "tease" us with anything from the forthcoming season.

Here is what the About section says for this video

**Available to viewers outside of the U.K. only**

It's music to your ears. The brand new series of Top Gear 19 will be accelerating onto your screens exclusively just a few days behind its transmission in the UK, on BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge and BBC HD around the world. As the new series is still in production and under wraps, we've cut together a Top Gear mash up using some of our favourite moments and witty banter from Clarkson, Hammond, May and of course The Stig, from previous series to whet your appetite for what to expect from the new series.

Series 19 sees Jeremy, Richard and James engaging in another collection of incredible adventures, absurd stunts and dream drives, ably assisted by their tame racing driver, The Stig. Topped off by another stunning international Special. It's the perfect conclusion to another brilliant series of Top Gear.

I'd like to correct you on that one mate, its Jezza who will be driving the Lexus LF-A and May is driving the new AM Vanquish. As a matter of fact, Jezza was actually supposed to drive the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta , however the car wasn't ready in time so Jeremy was to look at other options and thats how he ended up with the LF-A.

Source: Jeremy Clarkson's Column - Jeremy on the Lexus LF-A

I think this series will have 6 episodes, inlcuding the late Christmas special episode.

Regards,

More updates on the upcoming series:

- Jeremy gets talented students from the Coventry University Design to build him something even smaller than the Peel P50 as a mode of personal transportation, which he could drive to work.

- Bentley Continental GT Speed: Bentley's fastest ever production car, the boys decide to find out if it could be turned intoa WRC Car!

- Mexican Adventure: Across the Nevada desert to the Mexican Border, Doge Viper, Aston Martin Vanquish & the Lexus LF-A.

- Traditional Top Gear Race: Car v/s Train, Fastest way from Britain To Italy to watch a football match in the San Siro stadium in Milan if you only have £35,000 to spend on a car. Jeremy (Shelby Mustang GT500) v/s Richard & James.

- Jeremy and Richard design the perfect vehicle for Britain's ever-growing pensioner population. To test it, they recruit some old people to take a trip the south coast of England for a sit down and nice cup of tea.

- Kia Cee'd thorough Road Test: Jeremy's on hand to administer a very thorough road test to answer the questions that really matter - is it faster than a GT-R? Is it any good if you're a sodium and eels salesman? Can it play international rugby?

- Power Test of the Pagani Huayra, will this shake the V8 Atom on the power lap board?

- Toyota GT86 Road Test.

- Hot Hatches: Jeremy tests 825bhp's worth of hot hatchery in the shape of the Ford Focus ST, Renault Megane Renaultsport Cup 265 and Vauxhall Astra VXR.

- Africa Special: Clarkson, Hammond and May are off to Africa in a bid to find the source of the Nile in cars bought of the internet for £1500.

Was about to post this link. Glad to see the Train vs Car sort of challenge back and want to see the review of Huayra.

So, of all 5 episodes, one is going to be Xmas Special, One is Africa Special. So, just 3 more regular ones. That is pretty bad, after this long wait. Still, excited to have 'em back.

I think the Xmas special WILL be the Africa drive. Not sure if it's going to be included in the 5 episodes this season either.

. I was wrong. Just rechecked the link. The super-car thing is US Road special. I guess it will be telecasted as a regular episode with News and Celebrity section, like the Bonneville one they had done couple of seasons back.
