re: 2014 Mercedes C-Class: Now officially unveiled (page 5)

I personally like the interiors of this vehicle better than the last C class but not the older C classes pior whose interiors simply oozed elegance through generous use of wood, They seem to have gone for a much more 'sporty' appearance for this generation from the flat bottom steering wheel to the SLS air-con vents. Not a fan of tablet like screen with its think bezels, Overall though I'm satisfied.
Now I wait for the official exterior shots. If it's carried over styling queues from the S-Class I shall be very happy : ).

Mercedes has planned a 'SportCoupe' version of the upcoming C-Class;

^ This version will be having a 5 door layout & should be competing with A5 sportback & 3 GT

^^ I hope that's just a rendering, because it does not look proportionate. The front overhang in particular, looks a bit off. There's something very BMWey about it.

The interior though is delicious! *thumbs up*

Was the earlier teaser pic of the interior of the base version? In that pic, the gear lever was the traditional A/T type but in this latest pic it's in the proper Merc position. BUT, I stand corrected. I didn't like the interiors earlier, called it Chinese, but the latest one is smacking delicious!

I am getting very impressed by the design language of the new age Mercs. First the A class, then the new S and now this C. I have always been in the BMW camp but I prefer the above mentioned cars to the corresponding Bimmers.

Maybe, as they say, this is what age does to you.

PS: The F10 is still the pick over the new E though. The latter looks very Korean.

It seems that Merc is also following the same route of other germans by maintaining the similar design clue for all of their models. I like Merc for the distinguishing features in every single car. The way they are different. Unlike Audi, VW, somewhat BMW also, whose cars are very difficult to recognize from far. Anyway, it the graceful, royal look seems to have gone but replacements are not bad either.

Hmm. Am I the only one who thinks the current gen model looks better? The S-Class rear does not seem to suit this body length at all. The front isnt particularly appealing either. While I currently found the A4,3 series and the C class equally attractive in their own way, this would definitely be a couple of steps below the other 2.

A bit disappointing. Looks like the C has lost a bit of character. This looks more of a fusion between facelifted E Avantgarde and the CLA.

I shall partly agree to that, coz frankly i love the front, side & front 1/4 look.

The rear has been kinda not upto the mark especially the tail lights, which IMO are way too small.

Also note this car is sporting the AMG styling package, the normal C will look less aggressive than this.
