re: 2014 Mercedes C-Class: Now officially unveiled (page 5)

In some photos, the new C looks great and in some it looks a bit confusing. I think the angle of the photograph is not doing it justice, especially the grille. The grille looks too narrow in the photos above.

The picture shared earlier with the sharper bumper looks stunning. I have a feeling the new C will look great in person.

Check out this video.

Additional details on the W 205.

Seems like the complete Display cluster is digital like the new S-Class

Images of Schumi testing the safety aspects of the upcoming C Class. Looks like he's quite enjoying his post-retirement stint.

Impressed with the new age styling of the new mercedes models, i can't help but end up thinking about how they ripped off a BMW front end design.

The bonnet cuts off at 85% the distance a normal bonnet would end and the grill is now a massive one that fills up the gap created by the shortened bonnet. The logo too is place just where BMW places there logos.
If you guys remember, the IDRIVE concept with the screen was also copied by Mercedes and originally introduced by BMW in the previous generation 7 and 5.

Heard that air suspension may come as an option in the W205. That's a first-time on a C class. I think that alone is enough to get Mercedes quite a few buyers, leave aside the all-new styling and stunning interiors. Ordinary people could even mistake this one for the new S!

Beautiful car, the exterior looks aggressive yet very elegant. The revamped interior looks great too. Only thing I don't like it the iPad-like thing sticking out, surely there should be an option to slide it into the dashboard when not in use?
In any case my dad liked it so much, he wants to order one, but they're only going to take orders from March-April 2014 for a February 2015 delivery. What is the situation like in India? Any ideas when MB India are going to accept orders for this car?

I guess it should not be earlier than in Australia. But since the new model is already showcased, and it's better than the outgoing model, the sales of the current C is going to take a plunge, and they will be forced to bring it as early as possible. If I'm not wrong they should be starting the bookings here before mid 2014, or maybe as early as March-April. It doesn't seem to happen before Australia launch. Remember even the CLA is yet to reach Indian shores. They're selling it in Australia for months now.

But as I read somewhere UK bookings start by Jan 2014 and deliveries start by June 2014. How come Australia is getting deliveries as late as Feb 2015?

A great looking car, bus its sad to see that Mercedes is going down the same road as Audi where all their cars look more or less the same with the only differentiators being size.

Studio review of the C from Autoexpress UK. Looks like Mercedes has done a stellar job in differentiating the new C-class from the likes of the CLA.

Noticed that they have done away with the CDI nomenclature for Europe. Not sure if it will remain like that when the car gets to India (probably not).

Good observation

Yes Mercedes is terming its diesels as BLUETEC (since > 2006 IIRC) & market it as the cleanest diesel technology.

Also the BLUETEC is compatible with the low sulfur diesels which is available in the US as Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of US.
